It could probably be a sync. Debian package have support for abrowser, firefox (with all links) and seamonkey. It works just fine when installed with Firefox. Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
The fix for bug 158747 made it impossible to test against .torrent
files.
Instead of fixing my patch I'm requesting this sync. The Python 2.6
compability is the only change in 1.18.3. Also syncing with debian
will remove unnecessary delta.
It builds, installs and works fine.

I believe that the easiest way to enable testsuite would be to ship a dummy project in debian/ directory that will provide settings for runtests.py script. I'll send an email to debian maintainer and see if we can do it in Debian and not create local delta.
