I just installed it last night, and my keyboard doesn't respond. I'm running Karmic Kubuntu and my video driver from nVidia is straight from nVidia. I have a AMD3200+ processor but am running 32bit. 2 gigs of memory. I have no problems with other openGL games such as Boswars or Sauerbraten. Thanks! This is not the place for a rant. We all agree that the latest version of Nexuiz should be in Ubuntu. Please read the rest of the bug report to see why this is not yet the case. You guys are forgetting that most packages in Debian and Ubuntu are the product of community work and nexuiz in indeed not a easy package to work with (All your packages on getdeb, PPAs are *not* redistributable since you use binary stuff from upstream .zip folder so we have to wait until Debian makes its move) and the DM was on top of that very busy with university and that stuff. Wow, I created this bug (about 2.5.1) for just some half year or so. So, Ubuntu users not just have to suck with defective 2.4.2 (which fails to operate with current servers) but they also have to suck yet another half of year! Surely there are downloads and PPAs but for average user it's too complicated. And you seems to care about formalism and bureaucracy far more than about user experience. That's why we have 90% users using Windows and only some 1-2% using Linux. If you're going to treat your users in THESE stupid ways, you would never be able to defeat Windows. Quick installation of good and free game via Ubuntu software center can be seen as advantage by users. Installation of defunct and terribly outdated 2.4.2 could be seen as epic fail only. Nothing more, nothing less. Servers admins are not going to wait while all retards would update to 2.5, they simply updated all servers to 2.5 and there is virtually no option to use 2.4.2 anyhow. Nexuiz is a NETWORKED game and if remote servers are not willing to co- operate with your ancient crap, you're OUT OF LUCK. And it's network gameplay what mages Nexius is worth of trying at all. So, I filed bug almost half year ago and still for nothing. As there is still no sign of a 2.5.2 package from Debian, and FinalFreeze is one week away, it's most likely we will keep 2.4.2 for a third release. I recommend anyone playing Nexuiz on Karmic to upgrade to 2.5.2, as there are an enormous number of changes and improvements, and this will bring you in line with practically all public servers. You can either use the upstream zip[1], or Michael's PPA[2]. I've been playing Michael's PPA the last few days and it seems great! It is much better than the 2.4 version packaged in karmic/universe especially when connecting to the servers currently found in the server window.
