I thought it handled this now. I would say this is a bug.. but no idea
how hard it is to reinsert this data without dropping the db and
starting again.

The same thing happens on a different Wandboard that doesn't have
DSDPlayer installed, so it's clearly unrelated. I suspect that my belief
it plays native 88.2 and 176.4 is based on past installations of CSOS
and SoA. It's very likely Debian that's at fault here. (And yeah, I know
I keep posting about this while claiming I don't care! It's just
stubborn curiosity.)

Depends what you change, I've just changed an album incorrectly tagged
k.d. Lang to k.d. lang and did a "look for new and changed" scan.

Under new music I now have this album listed as being by "Various
Artists". If I click on k.d. Lang (the original incorrect name) it is
empty. The new correct name lists all tracks. Only a "clear and rescan "
will fix this.

Playing around with this some more, I only have "-e dsd" in my

96k and 176.4 to 192, even after Squeezelite restarts and entire

Easytag is not fully automatic, it gives you the ability to calculate
the cddb disc id from a directory full of files (assumed to be a single
album) then do a lookup. It's up to you to choose the right match. It's
quite powerful and can fill tags from filenames or name files from tags
etc. I use it all the time.

2017-02-09 Thread jemhayward

I'm using PCP 3.10 as my LMS, and its working very well. I've built a
new NAS, and I want to use the NAS as the store for all my FLAC files.
I've copied all the files over to the NAS and I wanted to then move the
USB HDD attached to the Pi over to the NAS as well. However, I see that
I have a folder on the HDD that is called slimserver and has
subdirectories of cache and prefs - If I disconnect the HDD from the Pi
the LMS won't be able to see these files. I could copy them onto the
NAS, but how do I point LMS at the files?

I could re-configure my LMS again, but I'd rather do something more
interesting!!!

Can anyone advise?

Have to say I agree with Mnyb, getting your tags sorted out is the way
to go. It may be a pain to get it right but once done you won't regret
it. There are lots of forum posts in the subject of tagging. Personally
I use mp3tag and do it manually but there are "automatic" tagging apps

Tags are essentiall for a working LMS experience :/

Otherwise views like artist, album artist, album ,genre , year, song ,
track no, composer etc becomes useless.
and no album cover pictures .
And the search functionality becomes crippled ?

The other menus in LMS are generated from the file tags .

There is a " guess tag " functionality in LMS that tries to figure this
by file and folder names only , it can be tweaked to some extent if your
folder structure is very consistent, but it can not replace tags .

I think there is a lot of useful info in the wiki and a whole subforum
devoted to ripping and tagging .

Sounds like your music file tags need sorting out.

If you want to see your music as you would see it on your HDD, click/tap

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.10

2017-02-09 Thread merlinus

I am using Squeeze Ctrl as a front-end to manage pCP, so do the
Squeezelite settings affect anything?

Also, is there a way to organize my music library files in LMS (and
Sqeeze Ctrl) so they mirror the way I have them on my HDD?
(/music/composer/albums/) As it now stands it is a total dog's
breakfast, and almost impossible to find anything!

Sorry, I don't know. I don't have DACs that support DSD.
