[SlimDevices: Unix] WiFi USB dongle

2017-09-05 Thread steff

According to your experience,

I am looking for the best WiFi adapter to be used on a Rpi3, since the
built in WiFi is very poor.

My router supports AC1200.

thanks

Excellent! I also moved LMS cache to my USB stick, but I didn't realize
that preferences would be there when a new pCP was flashed .

Thanks :)

I've not tried synctoy, but I would suspect special characters.

Is your USB drive formatted FAT32? Do you have the extra file system
support installed? If not install the Extra File system support, then
reboot. This will enable UTF-8 encoding on Fat32 devices.

I moved my LMS cache to a USB drive/stick (there's a button in pCP to do
this).

If I load a fresh SD card, all my LMS settings/favourites/player prefs
are there, don't even need to scan my library, I can even carry on
playing the same playlist where I left off.

Thanks, just read about the Insitu setting in the "beta" setting tab

I think that saving settings to a usb drive and then have them reload on
power up only works for the pCP settings, not LMS, and if so, then I
would just need to remember to copy my LMS prefs folder before flashing
a new image

I thought of the fbtft driver module. I have no other idea why the
waveshare do not work with the Raspberry Pi 1.

There is no cpu dependency for the skin package and it's available for
both armv6 and armv7.

Can you write to the Samba share on the Pi from Windows manually ?

I had the same problem. Probably the USB Audio Card became the input
event number 0 and the touchscreen the input event number 1.

To fix it, you have to change the event number from 0 to 1 in the
do_rebootstuff.sh file.

Code:

if [ "$JIVELITE" = "yes" ]; then
echo -n "${BLUE}Starting Jivelite... ${NORMAL}"
  # eventno=$( cat /proc/bus/input/devices | awk '/FT5406 memory based
driver/{for(a=0;a>=0;a++){getline;{if(/mouse/==1){ print $NF;exit 0;')
  # if [ x"" != x"$eventno" ];then
  # export JIVE_NOCURSOR=1
export TSLIB_TSDEVICE=/dev/input/event1
export SDL_MOUSEDRV=TSLIB
export SDL_MOUSEDEV=$TSLIB_TSDEVICE
  # fi
  export HOME=/home/tc
  if [ -x /opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite.sh ]; then
  echo "${GREEN}Done.${NORMAL}"
  sudo -E -b /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/jivelite.sh > /dev/null 2>&1
  # sudo -E -b /opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite.sh >/dev/null 2>&1
  else
echo "${RED}There is a problem with the Jivelite installation. Please remove
and reinstall jivelite.${NORMAL}"
  fi

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] picoreplayer + usb hd

2017-09-05 Thread drmatt

Everyone has their right price/performance compromise. As the price
creeps up you're heading towards Intel NUC territory and genuine
hardware x86 processors. Hell, you can pick up a Celeron based HP
microserver with four 6gb sata 3.5" drive bays, two gig-e ports and a
bunch of USB3 for £120. No arm server is going to beat that for function
or performance or, critical for a lot of people, ease of integration.

albums..
