Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce piCorePlayer 3.20
Hi All I ran a backup of my config onto USB before downloading a new image for 3.22 and booting up. The config restored fine :-), but I came across one problem - with Samba. The restore of the config seems to restore some Samba settings, but the Samba extension isn't actually installed. So. I'm seeing the settings for Samba all blank but with the "Remove Samba" button, but without Samba actually being there. To get it working again, I had to Remove Samba a couple of times, then I got the Install button showing again, and then I could re-install it and all works. Nothing dramatic, but just fyi pete S psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107352 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

wtnh wrote: > ... I have not yet added LMS to the Zero or experimented with multiple > SSIDs - one thing at a time! Does someone have further ideas reg dual wifi setup on piCorePlayer? More specific for a band-aid idea: Is there a way to access the FAT boot partition (PCP) of picoreplayer remotely while picoreplayer is running? (Then I could have 2 newconfig.bak files and rename the appropriate one for the WLAN I want to access after next reboot... not really convenient, I know...) General Update: My "piPAL" (see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...l=1#post893404) runs smoothly and I am happy with it. Although - as many had recommended - I added an I2S DAC (generic PCM5105A) for sound improvement. I still had to fight noise issues where the Pi transmits 'computing noise' to the PALs Amplifier. This seems to be due to the Pi feeding off the same power source - the PALs battery and due ot the fact that they are so close together. Noise was *almost* fixed by adding a ferrite core for the power-wires to the Pi and putting max distance between Pi cables and PAL cables. Now, I am really happy with the setup - if I only find a way to toggle between 2 WiFi settings.. It's powered through the amp from a 19v brick so I think the power is ok. (I had suspected overheating or EMI myself before as it was all built into a small box, but its all spread out now.) As there is no obvious diagnosis, I've decided to reduce the potential for funny kernel issues and random faults and I have re - flashed v3.21 (normal) onto a new high quality 16Gb SD card. All seems fine so far (now I have unmuted the amp!). Nothing stands out from the dmseg logs to my untutored eye so I'll let it run and see what happens. Many thanks to all. Ryan, take a look at this thread for a button daemon. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107001-ANNOUNCE-SqueezeButtonPi-Tool-to-use-buttons-and-rotary-encoders-on-a-RPi= Ian, there are no upgrades to 7.9.0. If you want to upgrade to 7.9.1, follow this procedure. http://picoreplayer.sourceforge.net/how_to_upgrade_lms.shtml Or if you start with a clean image, 7.9.1 is now the default package. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107352 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
