Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Cirrus Logic Audio Card and Wolfson support in PCP 3.20
Log the output of the command, or hook up a monitor to watch the current Naples. You will probably have to wait for the card to be detected by the kernel. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107329 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Clear explanation. So both pCP and my little DAC (M2Tech) control volume in digital domain and so, if volume is less than 100%, no more bitperfect. Maybe several ways are available to control volume in digital domain, with different quality. Need to understand if it is better to let pCP to control volume or the DAC. For sure the other DAC I have ( Teac ) manage volume in analog domain, after the signal has been decoded. steff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108191 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Cirrus Logic Audio Card and Wolfson support in PCP 3.20
Based on my own search I presume /opt/bootsync.sh is the best place to add system stuff before PCP script is started from /opt/bootlocal.sh However the modprobe even if called through /sbin/modprobe is not working. /opt/bootlocal.sh just do your stuff before the line #pCPstart-- paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107329 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Hi Paul, Indeed I can not expect you to solve my problem, and if you can not experience the issue first hand, debugging is quite difficult. However the open source community is bigger than the 2 of us , and thus might give us a helping hand. But let me give it a start. Loading the modules after boot time through : modprobe -r and modprobe is quite successful, and in pcp 3.20 regular has always worked for me. Through a script started from the user commands in the tweak page it worked 'OKE' but indeed squeezelight had to be restarted too, as it was already started and without finding the soundcard(drivers). If you can tell me how picore starts its system scripts , and where pcp does tap in , I can do the tests with insertions. I tried /etc/init.d/tc-config, but I do not think it is where pcp is started, and I need to make it reboot proof. If I can secure the module load before the aconf is generated and squeezelite is started, we can test PCP as If the driver would have started normally. Most of the issues seem to be caused by missing stuff at start up. BTW starting the stuff manually does give me a working setup, both with and without Alsa equal, and with and without disabled Rpi analogue sound. greetz M-H M-H's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66156 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107329 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Just to confirm; it is this file: logitechmediaserver_7.9.1~1509357021_i386.deb on http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.9 ? Yes, that's the file right now. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] LMS on Ubuntu Server 17.10
Yes, I'm using 32-bit... I'm planning a new server, which will serve as file/media server and am testing some OS'es in order to select the one that would be best for me (the server would be headless, so I need to be sure I can manage it well). As I'm running it on VirtualBox on an older laptop, I cannot run 64 bit guests (lack of hardware support). In the end, when I get the server, I will run 64 bit, but for now I'm stuck... :) My first choice is Ubuntu 17.10 with webmin, but I need to verify that it can run all I need and that I can manage the server headless. Thanks! Just to confirm; it is this file: logitechmediaserver_7.9.1~1509357021_i386.deb on http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.9 ? I will give the build a go this evening and will report back. [SlimDevices: Unix] LMS on Ubuntu Server 17.10
Hello, I'm trying to install LMS on Ubuntu Server 17.10, but have the hell of issues... The deb-package installs but fails to start (slimserver died, restarting). When launching slimserver.pl from the tgz file, I get issues with a number of CPAN modules, but installing those do not solve it (best I can get is that the binaries for Audio::Scan are not compatible, and similar message for 2 others). When trying to compiling it, the system build fails stating first that win32/zlib cannot be found and then that zlib.h is missing (which stops the build). I've seen there are a number of threads related to the problem: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108169-LMS-not-starting-after-upgrading-Ubuntu-to-17-10-from-17-04 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?99648-Howto-build-a-self-contained-LMS but cannot seem to resolve my issues using what is there... I'm currently building on Ubuntu Server 17.10 32 bit on a virtual box; my plan is to set up a new server and I'm evaluating different operating systems for it using VirtualBox (as I'm doing it on an older laptop Virtualbox does not support 64 bit guests). My plan is to go with Ubuntu Server. Thanks!
