It seems like I have an atomic issue. :D However, if the solution is to convert my entire library from alac to wav just so that a few playlists sequence properly, I am not going to bother. I only have a few playlists, mostly for Christmas actually. > [20:48:55.906314] ffmpeg: root atom offset 0xbd22a8: partial file > [20:48:55.906338] ff_decode:374 av_read_frame error: -1094995529 Invalid > data found when processing input > [20:48:55.906361] ffmpeg: root atom offset 0xbd22a8: partial file > [20:48:55.906385] ff_decode:374 av_read_frame error: -1094995529 Invalid > data found when processing input > [20:48:55.906407] ffmpeg: root atom offset 0xbd22a8: partial file > stereoptic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107352 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] How to: Installing LMS 7.9 nightly in a FreeBSD jail on FreeNAS 9.3
After 4 busy evenings LMS is running  The problem is with PERL versions. Perl, FreeNAS11: Code: [root@freenas11 ~]# perl --version This is perl 5, version 20, subversion 3 (v5.20.3) built for amd64-freebsd-threa d-multi Perl in jails: Code: $ perl --version This is perl 5, version 24, subversion 1 (v5.24.1) built for amd64-freebsd-thread-multi Perl in jails after pkg update/upgrade commands: Code: root@lms_build:/usr/home/al # perl --version This is perl 5, version 24, subversion 3 (v5.24.3) built for amd64-freebsd-thread-multi Third version  You can't build LMS (./buildme.sh) using PERL 5.24.3, 5.22.4, 5.26.1. Compilation works ONLY with Perl 5.24.1. So simple don't execute Code: pkg update pkg upgrade in lms_built and lms jails - and it works. I downloaded logitechmediaserver-7.9.1-1512734075-FreeBSD.tgz from h t t p : / / downloads-origin.slimdevices.com / nightly/?ver=7.9 , instructions like Coreadale wrote in #50 with some modifications (Perl versions, no pkg update/upgrade, no wget - I downloaded latest LMS version manually, after building LMS more directories to remove (rm -rf 5.26) and in LMS jail: Code: pkg install p5-IO-Socket-SSL So - it was very interestig for me to learn how to build LMS, thanks to all of you for all posts in this tread, really very helpfull. Now it's time for music :) Andrzej alayer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67624 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104122 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Linux VMs running on Win10+VMwareWorkstationPro
You could use two vmdks... ;) Yeah I would generally say that's a better idea than lumping it all in one big image. You could also get the shared folders stuff working. That will always consistently mount the same windows content in the same place anytime you power up the VM. -Transcoded from Matt's brain by Tapatalk- -- Hardware: 3x Touch, 1x Radio, 2x Receivers, 1 HP Microserver NAS with Debian+LMS 7.9.0 Music: ~1300 CDs, as 450 GB of 16/44k FLACs. I really appreciate the followup! However, I may wind up reformatting my SD card and re-installing piCorePlayer. This one is acting wacky. I have had previous success with these 3 Raspberry pi / piCoreplayers: - piCore/jivelite/ethernet player - picore/ethernet - picore/wifi. These 3 all work flawlessly! I'm not sure why this one is giving me troubles. Before I saw your reply I looked at the log on the LMS server. I didn't have time to copy and paste it here, but the log stated that the file was in an unknown format (or something like that). Yet, it played the same files yesterday without issue . I removed jivelite and tried controlling piCoreplayer with LMS web and also Orange Squeeze on android. Same issues. I removed the player from the location (it was connected ethernet to a wireless AC750 bridge) and plugged it to ethernet straight to the router - same issues. I used a different receiver to connect the HDMI - still no good. (thinking it may be a handshaking problem) In addition, it seems like I have to reboot piCore if has been not used over night. (I think I had the same issue earlier with another player, but resolved that with the 'when stopped' setting on LMS - IIRC.) Also, there is distortion and static - something I haven't experienced on piCore since version 1.1!! :D I also did an insitu update from 3.20 to the very latest 3.22. So rather than than continuing to troubleshoot, I may just rebuild! (Unless there is a something simple that I seriously overlooked!) stereoptic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107352 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

I agree that the music folder needs to be backed up separately in any one of a number of ways that you suggest (and others). Portability is a key thing in a Pi based LMS. Provided you use the same NFS / SMB mount then a rebuild is dead easy and takes 5 minutes if you have had the foresight to create a backup of the SD card somehwere. Returning to the original issue it ought to be possible to share the files on Windows via SMB over the network via UNC IP map. A direct connection to the disc is going to present privilege issues I would think.
