Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer 4.0.0
hi Wirrunna, Thanks for your 3 "pastes", it does make things clearer for diagnostics. If you could include the paste URL in your post it will make it easier for us to find it. The URL won't work of anyone but the pCP Team, no even you. The original problem, spaces in your SSID, looks fixed. When you first did the 3.5.0 to 4.0.0-b5 upgrade and it didn't connect, did you try multiple reboots? Your configuration looks OK to me and should connect (although I have assumed your password is correct as it worked in 3.5.0). We have only started using the wifi passphrase with this release of pCP. It is only generated if you use the [Wifi settings] web page. In theory, your wifi password will not to stored unless you manually maintain your wifi configuration. But when going from 3.5.0 to 4.0.0 the wifi password is still used. The first time you press [Save] on the [Wifi settings] page it will be converted to a passphrase and your password will not be stored or remembered. You have an interesting collection of SSIDs in your area. Are the 7 "dog" SSIDs on the same wifi router? :) Are the "dd-wrt" SSIDs yours too? I note that there is no "Ping LMS test" info. Is that normal for you? regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109286 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer 4.0.0
Just entered the SSID with spaces in manually, then password and it connected, so uploaded EiFi diag page to Pastebin, so that is the 3rd Pastebin upload. The only difference that I could see was PSK Passphrase was populated when I entered the details manually. I saved the 3.5 SD card image so it is easy to restore the SD and try again. So, I have uploaded wifi diag to Pastebin, first from the pCP I just upgraded where wifi doesn't work, then from a pCP that I upgraded the other day and I completed the Network config manually. Will investigate further. A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. Seen sprayed on the outside wall of the local library - Three things I hate in life : 1. Vandalism 2. Irony 3. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.5.0
I updated my pi3 pCP v3.5.0 to v4.0.0 a couple of days ago and have been having problems since then. Unable to find the pi3 on the network, didn't show up in DHCP list of router. Eventually cleaned the SD card and started again with a downloaded image of 4.0.0. New install, then new install of LMS. Reinstalled all plugins, mounted the USB hard drive. Scanned, and all was up and running. Then suddenly no tracks would play. Rescan, and it removes all the titles! It seems the hard drive was now unmounted. Remounted it, scanned and all good. Then I installed last nights LMS update. Problems now are that LMS will not start, and I do not want to uninstall and reinstall LMS as it means re-doing settings. Not sure if this is a pCP issue or LMS. Will also post something in LMS thread. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer 4.0.0
I posted a B5 imageit should address most of what has been reported..no other changes. Probably most interested in the 3.5.0 -> 4.0.0 upgrade with WiFi. The SSID with spaces should transfer correctly now. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Well... I know quite well what a real time kernel is. You could eventually say: ask to google, search the forum, etc. and this would be acceptable. [SlimDevices: Unix] pCP 4 Real Time Kernel vs pCP 3 Audio Optimized
I am still running on a Rpi3 the "old" 3.22 version since it is great. I never used the Audio Optimize version before because of issues with Rpi3 WiFi What is the difference between the old Audio Optimized and the new Real Time Kernel? When is suggested the standard and when the Real Time Kernel? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 3.5.0 + LMS + Pi3B+ - syncronisation
I can confirm that this problem has been killed by version 4. Top job, people - I now have v4 running on Pi A, Pi 2B+, Pi 3b, Pi 3b+ and Pi zero, all working with LMS running on the 3B+ - really impressive. Thanks to all for your time, skill and effort.
