paul- and huxmut,
Just built a brand new out of the box player, 7" official touch screen,
RPi3B+ and TeraDak ES9023 and used the method as described. Wireless
fired up and the IP address stayed on the RPi screen making it simple to
point a browser at pCp and configure. Now to add soundcheck's tweaks
and lower the power draw as the RPi internal WiFi means there is no need
for a USB dongle.

Thank you.

If you have a kernel name ending with "_v7" you normally need to use the
related extensions with _v7 in the name. Your issue then would be the 0
size package.

Just yesterday I reported (offline) to Paul that I have _v7 and non-v7
kernel packages on the system (with audiokernel). It's kind of
confusing.

To expand on Greg's comment, the onboot.lst file is on the second
partition (ext4) so to do this offline you need a computer that can read
and edit files on that partition type.

-or-

plug in a monitor and usb keyboard. I agree with Greg, we can make an
easy way to do this from the fat partition, that way all the windows
users aren't left out of the ease.

Hi M-H,

It should just be a matter of adding "net-usb-KERNEL.tcz" to onboot.lst,
remove other network devices and reboot.

While testing, I noticed hot-swapping USB ethernet killed USB wireless.

I haven't investigated why the Web GUI doesn't update onboot.lst for
you.

USB networking has popped up a couple of times in the last week or two.
I was thinking of adding a usbnet bootcode or maybe a usbnet file in the
boot directory to trigger net-usb-KERNEL.tcz be added to onboot.lst. At
the moment you need smeo kind of network access before you can activate
it, unless you plug the SD card into another Linux box and edit
onboot.lst.

Hi Gerhardc,

It seems funny the such a small extension (45k) will not fit!

Did you try a [Main Page] in [Advanced] mode > [Resize FS]?

Try "100MB" as "Whole SD card" is broken for large SD cards in pCP4.0.0

Hi Paul,
Indeed getting net-usb to work might need a bit of your involvement ;-)

I started over , plain pcp4 image, pizero 1.2, setup of WIFI dongle
through console.
Used web gui to set 'tc' its password, an unique hostname and
squeezelight name to recognize it more easily.
Verified through CLI, there is only wlan0 and lo as nics.
Then found net-usb-4.14.56 as already downloaded, but not installed. (
not using the _v7 ones as it is a zero )
Could not get it into installed status through gui but found an
interesting part in the info:

The end of /opt/bootlocal.sh calls /pcp_startup.sh

Code:

  /home/tc/www/cgi-bin/pcp_startup.sh 2>&1 | tee -a /var/log/pcp_boot.log

So - if you edit that to send output directly to /var/log/pcp_boot.log
rather than to tee then it might well do what you want.
perhaps

Code:

  /home/tc/www/cgi-bin/pcp_startup.sh > /var/log/pcp_boot.log 2>&1

and then remember to do it again each time you update.

@Ralphy

I am wondering if you could also make pcp-xxx-dev extensions for the sl
dependencies/libs available that you are providing,
to be able to build a custom-squeezelite.

Until now I used the tinycore extensions. That of course also works.
Though I guess you use more up2date or patched sources for your pcp
extensions.

I'd appreciate it.

Whooops :-)
I think it is BCM26 & BCM16 - but weirdly these are not connected to the
amp (there aren't even solder-points!).
I'll try other ones and see if the crackling is gone!

GPIO's)

In fact the button does not power down, I used them to command the
player to toggle PLAY/PAUSE. And the button is only in the mA range with
its current consumption.

Hi
is there something like a 100 ohm Resistor in the switch?

RPI dont like switches without a Resistor, these switches are too fast.

My rpis run a python script and a Mouse for this kind of setup [<<] [||]

The Highend Version uses a Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse for this
application.

So LMS does all the work no a amp cut off (seems you doing this

I'm using this one:

I just changed the mode to be NC instead of NO, now the music's playing.
(Soldering the connection "A")

But when pressing a button, for the time of the pressing, the music
stops. And was well it makes an annoying "crack"-sound in the speaker.
Does this occur on certain BCM's or how can this happen?

What sensors are you using? These ones are good, because they are cheap
and more important very small.
