Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer

2019-11-27 Thread Michael Herger

The message was written a long time ago, but is this Skin somewhere
available? I looked in piCoreplayer 6.0.0 and it isn't there, there is
only the Joggler skin for the origional 7" Pi display.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't. Haven't a pCP 6 here. But I'm using the
grid skin every day on the 7" display. What display do you have?

Also I want to ask if the world-clock is somewhere availabe in German?

Is this an official screensaver? (can't even remember...) There's
usually a strings.txt file in the applet's folder which would allow you
to localize it.

The Orbi network is running on channel 13 BTW; the ap that did connect
is on 11.

Watching with interest! I have one of these Pirate Audio boards with
the line out option, attached to a Pi Zero W running pCP6.0.0-b7. I
have the audio working using the 'HiFiBerry DAC Zero/MiniAMP' option,
and the four buttons are working with sbpd (I had to use the '-t 0'
option with pigpiod), but I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to start to
get the screen working with Jivelite.

Well, I copied some files to Mopidy's data area, and the only option was
to play them back in alphabetical order.

I'm now attempting to get the Pirate Audio's screen to work with
Raspbian using the fbtft_device module. Unfortunately I can't find any
documentation as to which GPIO pins are connected to the ST7789 display,
specifically DC and RESET.

The problem turned out to be that pcp didn't want to play with my
Netgear Orbi mesh network. No idea why not - everything else I own
(including pi's with USB dongles and zero-W's running standard Raspbian)
works fine with it.

I set wpa_supplicant.conf to point to a different access point and the
player burst into life. I guess the answer lies somewhere within
Tinycore Linux, but that's another kettle of fish I was hoping to steer

When I gave you that information, I thought you were mounting the other

Most issues wifi issues with the PI are channel related.

Are you setting the correct country code? What is your router
configuration? Channel and Channel width. Some routers want to
operate with a 40Mhz channel width, which the Pi will not work with.

I had previously pressed 'Set Permissions' button but did it again just
in case. I also checked using an SSH session and the directory and files
are all set to tc:staff.

The guide in the link is the one I followed to set up the share and I
have definately set the password.

I've just tried adding a different SSD to the pCP machine, I set up a
new share again using the guide.

I used ssh to create a directory on the new drive and changed the
permissions for that directory using chown to tc:staff, then I mounted
the new drive on my Ubuntu machine using:
sudo mount -t cifs -o rw,uid=1001,gid=50,username=tc //192.168.0.15/Test
pCPTest

I was then asked for a password, I entered the one I set on the pCP 'set
up samba' section of the pCP configuration page. The drive mounted and I
could see the files but, unfortunately I still get permission denied if
I try to write.

Beginning to wonder I there's a bug in Ubuntu somewhere that stops
regular users writing to mounted samba shares.

I noticed if I use the Ubuntu file manager to 'connect to a server' and
enter 'smb://192.168.0.15/Test' and hit connect, enter 'tc' and the
password then I do have write access in the file explorer, so I'm pretty
sure that the problem lies with the mounting.

I set up a Pi Zero WH with a HifiBerry Dac+ Zero lately and it works
perfectly.

Just downloaded v5.0, edited the wpa_supplicant.conf file accordingly
and saved it on the card.
After the boot, WiFi was present and I could set up the settings in
Squeezelite.
