If you're in a list of say albums, there's no way to back out of that list with a single button press, you need to continuously press the up/back arrows until you get to the first item in the list, the next key press gets you back a step. I'd say the grid skin is only useful as a touch skin. *Server - LMS 8.3.0 *RPi4B 4GB/NanoSound ONE case/pCP 8.1.0 - 75K library, playlists & LMS cache on Sata SSD (ntfs) *Lounge* - DAC32 - AudioEngine B2 *Office* - RPi 3B+/HiFiBerry DAC HAT/RPi screen - Edifier D12 *Bedroom* - Echo Show 8 *Spares* - 1xSB Touch, 1xSB3, 3xRPi, 1xCORE32, AVI DM5 speakers kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117045 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Using a squeezebox remote to a picoreplayer. The play button starts the music. It does not pick the item. Hi, the "easiest" way I found to change the wallpaper is to unpack the pcp-jivelite.tcz file and repack it. This 'thread' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?116248-Custom-Joggler-HD-Skin-with-Controls-(Took-me-all-week)) is very useful especially this 'part' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?116248-Custom-Joggler-HD-Skin-with-Controls-(Took-me-all-week)=1058320=1#post1058320) 'Eyerex' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?65695-Eyerex) explain it very well. I advice you to watch the video. Basically you use winscp to unpack then navigate and copy the files you need in the correct folder (Setupwallpaper in your case) and repack the file. Then reboot your pi. Choose the wallpaper you need and voila. Maybe there is an easier solution but for now this is the only one working for me. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
Thanks all for suggestions. So today I completed LMS setup on the network at work (downloading & installing CIFS interface libraries) and brought my Pi home, mounted the remote NAS disk and it all works perfectly. I set the Pi up with a static IP address and re-addressed my other 'player' Pi. And now, completely unexpectedly the piCorePLayer repositories are available. One thing that may have solved it was rebooting my router (which I did because the DHCP wasn't doing what it was told initially), which it appears I haven't done for 132 days. I guess 'have you tried switching it off and back on again' still remains good advice. Next project - set up the same system with Docker (although am going to use another Pi borrowed from work, I'm happy with my LMS and hope to not have to touch it for a while). Nativefier (github.com/nativefier/nativefier) is a little open source program which allows you to turn any website/URL into an app with native integration. It uses Electron/Chromium and provides many options. It's easy to use. WebCatalog (webcatalog.io) is even easier to use and utilises the same software but is not entirely free. However it does provide additional features such as per-app settings pages, 'spaces' for groups of apps, loading extensions from a chromium browser on the same machine etc, even on the free tier which is limited to 10 apps. There are other similar options out there. manx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70875 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116934 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

I would like it to be more user frendly (photo of artist during choice, photo of album,...) Albumcovers should already be shown. I recommend using the Joggler Grid skin (800x480). Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Backup piCorePlayer without removing SD card
I realize that this is not directly related to your question, but have you considered adding an SD micro card extender in your pi case. I had the same issue with not having access to my sd card. After having to dismantle the case a couple of times when it became necessary to swap out an sd card, I modified my case to allow access using a UCTRONICS Micro SD to Micro SD Card Male to Female Flexible Extender. I just cut a small hole in the case and secured the extender with screws so that it protruded out a fraction. It may not be an option with your pi enclosure, but maybe something to consider. Note, I tried a couple of extenders that didn't work consistently, but the Uctronics extender is part of their rack systems and is dependable.
