I am experimenting with Homebridge on an RPi and added a pcp mode
command to pcp on my piCorePlayer so that I could return a play/stop
status to Homebridge/Home Kit. Was wondering why it wasn't already
implemented?

OK, thanks, look forward to that. I have a Logitech Squeezebox Radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: Slimmer

2018-03-29 Thread pettefar

Hi dear people responsible for this great software, I have implemented
this in a nice wooden box with a 4x20 hd44780-type LCD display (quite
slow) and a generic $1 rotary encoder with press-switch and a couple of
press switches for KEY_SPACE and KEY_BACKSPACE. However I really want a
Play/Pause button. Is that possible? If so, what would be its moniker?
As a further nicety, dedicated Volume Up/Down buttons would be great
too!

I know how it works thanks. I use fixed IPs on my networks so want to
have it on the piCorePlayer too. I'll ssh in and have a look around.
(DHCP is just another layer of uncertainty.)

Hi, is it possible to not use DHCP and have a fixed IP for
piCorePlayer?

Also is there a display discussion somewhere for this?

I am really impressed with this project. My beloved Squeezebox stopped

had it up and running in less than half an hour!

[SlimDevices: Unix] Solaris 10 06 SPARC

2007-01-28 Thread pettefar

I have just downloaded and tried to install the 6.5.1 SlimServer
software.

I have already installed the latest Sun free c compiler, Studio 11.

I ran slimserver.pl which prompted me to download and compile the
modules - this all went OK apart from some warnings.

I created a slim user and gave it file ownership of the slimserver
directory which I relocated to /usr/local/slimserver

I mounted my music file system into a /music directory:-

bash-3.00# ls -ald /music
dr-xr-xr-x 42 nobody nogroup 1536 Jan 17 08:47 /music

I installed mysqld from Blastwave.org

When I run the slimserver.pl file now I get the following:-

-bash-3.00$ ./slimserver.pl --audiodir /music --d_server --d_scan

[SlimDevices: Unix] Re: Slimserver 6.5: Install fails on Solaris 10 x86

2007-01-15 Thread pettefar

Try putting all the files and directories in a directory called
/usr/local/slimserver and trying again.

I used the Sun Studio11 which is free and putting the path to the Sun
stuff before anything else. I used the Sun perl in /usr/bin.
