Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Has anybody tried one of these yet ?
ESS Dac support is sketchy, as the ESS stuff is typically closed source drivers. But I think most get them to work with other or generic drivers. I personally would not support ESS due to their close source policies. That being said, other than being expensive, there is probably nothing wrong with the box, I'm sure it works fine. The power button integration is just simple GPIO, which we do have a extension for that. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107611 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

I thought its audio was "good enough" for non-critical listening until I tried a genuine Logitech Squeezebox in the same system and I'd never go back. -Transcoded from Matt's brain by Tapatalk- -- Hardware: 3x Touch, 1x Radio, 2x Receivers, 1 HP Microserver NAS with Debian+LMS 7.9.0 Music: ~1300 CDs, as 450 GB of 16/44k FLACs. I don't like the analogue out on the Joggler it doesn't suit my ears. I currently use my Jogglers (with SqueezePlayOS installed) as control points for RaspPi based players and this works well however I am interested in the AudioPhonics thingy because of its IMHO nice case implementation. *Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B&W P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107611 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

No dac - just audio out to amp. Good enough for my ears! Had little problem running SqpOs and LMS on a Joggler for years. O2 joggler are awful in my experience. Slow and unreliable. And fgs don't use its own audio output as it's really really bad. -Transcoded from Matt's brain by Tapatalk- -- Hardware: 3x Touch, 1x Radio, 2x Receivers, 1 HP Microserver NAS with Debian+LMS 7.9.0 Music: ~1300 CDs, as 450 GB of 16/44k FLACs.
