If you are interested in using piCorePlayer, there is a list of dongles
people have used here:

"every" wlan adapter should be fine but i found one with an externanl
antenna should be the better alternative.

And in case of the RPI3 i found its not the Adapter itself its the way
you add it to the system that makes the difference.

On my first Days i removed the onboard modules (drivers) but in my case
that was the wrong way cause (of an systemupgrade???) the drivers were
back again and therefore the adapter itself was active again.

Now i am using rasbian stretch that uses the newer Device names like
wlxmacadress not just wlan0 and wlan1. So no more external Wlan Adapter
is using the Devicename WLAN0.

Be sure you do it the same way!

Anything with an RT5572N chipset is pretty much plug'n'play on RPi's
running most OS's. I specifically use these, being cheap and very
effective - no WiFi issues whatsoever:

Anything by a brand will do; it's on a USB 2 bus so anything over
~300Mbit is pointless. I have a pihut one and a edimax one. They've both
proven stable and as fast as can be expected.

[SlimDevices: Unix] WiFi USB dongle

2017-09-05 Thread steff

According to your experience,

I am looking for the best WiFi adapter to be used on a Rpi3, since the
built in WiFi is very poor.

My router supports AC1200.

thanks
