And in case of the RPI3 i found its not the Adapter itself its the way you add it to the system that makes the difference. On my first Days i removed the onboard modules (drivers) but in my case that was the wrong way cause (of an systemupgrade???) the drivers were back again and therefore the adapter itself was active again. Now i am using rasbian stretch that uses the newer Device names like wlxmacadress not just wlan0 and wlan1. So no more external Wlan Adapter is using the Devicename WLAN0. Be sure you do it the same way! Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] WiFi USB dongle
Anything with an RT5572N chipset is pretty much plug'n'play on RPi's running most OS's. I specifically use these, being cheap and very effective - no WiFi issues whatsoever: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271928946887?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Yatsushiro's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66935 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107941 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] WiFi USB dongle
Anything by a brand will do; it's on a USB 2 bus so anything over ~300Mbit is pointless. I have a pihut one and a edimax one. They've both proven stable and as fast as can be expected. -Transcoded from Matt's brain by Tapatalk- -- Hardware: 3x Touch, 1x Radio, 2x Receivers, 1 HP Microserver NAS with Debian+LMS 7.9.0 Music: ~1300 CDs, as 450 GB of 16/44k FLACs. [SlimDevices: Unix] WiFi USB dongle
According to your experience, I am looking for the best WiFi adapter to be used on a Rpi3, since the built in WiFi is very poor. My router supports AC1200. thanks steff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107941 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
