This role has a reporting line to the Front Office Development Lead. *Key accountabilities * Understand, appreciate, and follow the Scrum framework (you will need to provide us with any Scrum certification), TDD, and XP. Contribute to the full SDLC, including analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of the system, business processes, data and interfaces. Be a part of the Scrum team, and help the Product Owner to deliver the product to his Oil Front Office Traders. The development team is cross-functional and includes .NET and Java Developers, Solution Architect, QA Engineer, etc. *Essential experience and job requirements * Proven track record of creating and enhancing SOA-based enterprise-level applications using Java Exceptional development skills in Core Java, Spring/Guice, JPA/Hibernate, JAXB. Experience of using Maven. Deep understanding and experience of using SOAP Good knowledge of relational database (MS SQL Server, Oracle) Experience of using Tomcat, JBOSS Experience of Cruise Control/BuildForge/Hudson/Jenkins or other continuous build and integration tools. Understanding of threading and concurrent processing. Experience with Unix/Linux Desirable criteria & qualifications Experience of using JDBC Experience of using TFS, solid understanding of release management practices Strong numerical skills ideally with a numerate degree Strong understanding of programming paradigms such as distributed architectures and multi-threaded programme design. Understanding of Scala Understanding of distributed transactions.
