*Position*: *Database Architect* *Location*: *Salem , Oregon * *Duration: 12 months* *Interview : Telephone or In Person/Skype * *Description* Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains company database. Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process. Writes codes for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least at least 8 years or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor or specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This contract position will provide expert SQL Server consulting and technical services. The level of contract support is anticipated to be approximate ½ time for a year, not to exceed 1040 hours. *The types of services that will be provided are:* · Manage and tune database query performance · Design and Implement security strategy · Create server and database audit specifications · Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes · Implement Replication near real-time processing, including system monitoring and scripts for modifications and upgrades · Design Storage Architecture, Partitioning and TempDB usage, including the implementation of compression techniques. · Review and ensure that new database code meets standards for readability, reliability, and performance · Provide developers with feedback regarding the most resource-intensive queries on the server and suggestions for ways to improve performance · Conduct SQL Server training sessions for application developers · Consult with developers on the most efficient database designs for all object types, including tables, data types, stored procedures, functions, etc. *The ideal candidate will have the following:* · At least 10 years' experience with DBMS systems, and at least five years direct experience with SQL Server. · Experience architecting and monitoring high transaction, production database systems. · Expertise with data warehouse design and architecture. · Industry certification such as MCTS, MCP, or other DBMS, business intelligence, or data warehousing certifications. *Required/Desired Skills* *Type* *Qualification* *Description* *Competency* *Experience* *Required* Skills Backup and recovery Proficient 4-5 yrs No Skills Communication skills both verbal and written Expert No Skills Data Modeling Expert 9-10 yrs No Skills Data Warehousing Expert 9-10 yrs No Skills DBA Expert 9-10 yrs No Skills Microsoft SQL Server Expert 9-10 yrs No Skills SQL Expert 9-10 yrs No Skills Transact-SQL Expert 9-10 yrs No Skills UDP Expert 9-10 yrs No *About Net2Source, Inc.* Net2Source is an employer-of-choice for over 1000 consultants across the globe.
