Our client has an opportunity for an Informatica Extract, Transform, Load
(ETL) Designer/Developer to provide solutions for data quality operations
and Informatica ETL Processes. The candidate will support data integration
by working closely with the ETL Lead and BI/DW staff to create specific
designs for the linking or movement of data between various applications
and the DW environment. This role performs all phases of software
engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code
development and testing.



This candidate will work with the following team members:



· Business Analyst(s) and Data Analyst(s) to understand
informational requirements and understand information quality definitions
and expectations of end users

· Data Modelers/Database Designers in the design of target
environment data structures

· Business Systems and Data Analysts to understand source system
data and structures



Expected deliverables:



· Detailed design documentation for the source-to-target
transformations

· Preview proposed mappings with relevant personnel, e.g. Business
Analysts, Data Stewards, Business Systems and Data Analysts

· Development activities such as Source to target mapping
validations; identify, document and execute unit test cases/scripts.
Coordinate peer and code reviews and document test and review results

· Support efforts to anticipate and resolve data integration issues
across applications and technical infrastructures



*Qualifications:*



· *Informatica ETL Developer* with at least 5 years of experience
doing traditional *SQL* type development as well as experience writing *ETL
packages/programs* using *Informatica PowerCenter* version 9.0 or above.
Should be very familiar with the capabilities of relevant *ETL tools*, be
they specialized tools (e.g. Informatica) or generic database functionality
(e.g. MS SQL Server Integration Services)

· Experience with developing on the *Netezza* platform is highly
preferred

· Experience with *Informatica v10 data management* platform a plus.

· Query Optimization strategies

· Experience working with data sets from multiple sources (iSeries,
Netezza, SQL Server, etc.)

· Experience with complex transformations including Unions,
Routers, Normalizers, and custom calculated fields, slowly changing
dimensions

· Proficient in *Data Warehousing concepts*: *Star/Snowflake
schemas*, *Dimensional* tables (Type 1, Type 2), Large multi-terabyte data
marts/warehouses

· Strong Communication and problem solving skills

· Highly skilled, motivated team player with excellent
inter-personal skills

· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

· Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
