Within the GNO team are sub-specialties in wide-area-network (WAN), data-center-(DC) network and network traffic-management. Job Scope: This is an individual contributor role responsible for identifying and resolving issues of advanced complexity. This position is at a high professional level and requires strong execution and analytical abilities. This role works independently and receives minimal guidance. Responsibilities - Participate actively on carrying out network related changes and troubleshooting and resolving complex 2nd level network related problems, coordinate resources where necessary and serve as escalation point to 1st level operational teams - Respond to and resolve IP network issues within the timeframe of severity level agreements - Observe and identify trends of recurring problem and provide resolution to prevent recurrence - Deploy client solutions and network design implementations - Support all aspects of the network management process assuring requests, implementation, and problems are delivered as required with no impact to the global communications environment - Take initiative to proactively discover potential network impacts and resolve issues in the shortest time frame - Participate actively on problem resolution and root cause analysis - Deploy and document changes in accordance with problem and change management process - Communicate to customers, resolution and root cause resulting from the outage or service interruption - Perform most effective approach to restore, recover, or alter configurations, logical or physical, to maintain service integrity - Ability to write fluently and communicate to senior management in non-technical terms - Ability to mentor other GNO staff to improve overall team capabilities - The position requires on-site support on weekends on a rotational basis Qualification *Qualifications:* - Bachelors/Degree or equivalent experience; typically requires a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in network support/administration - Current CCNP, or equivalent, qualified with related professional experience is preferred - Have strong technical problem determination ability, exceptional system implementation, installation, and disaster recovery planning and ongoing administration experience - Broad knowledge and background on TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, WAN, and LAN - Good working knowledge on Cisco 65xx/72xx/76xx, Nexus 5k/7k, Bluecoat proxy, ACE & F5 load balancer - Sound understanding and working knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP and OSPF - Have a positive and never-say-die attitude.
