*Summary:*
Client is looking for a highly experienced technical resource for 2-3mo to
assist in performing a migration from our Corporate Microsoft Team
Foundation Server (TFS) environment to the new cloud based Microsoft Team
Services environment. Preference is for a local resource to be on-site in
Hopkins, MN but we are open to a remote resource.
*Scope:*
Perform all technical actions/tasks as required to move TFS to Team
Services with high data fidelity
• Export existing unmodified team process templates
• Determine which template was used to create each team project
o Edition 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013
o Process Scrum, Agile, CMMI
• Determine whether a team project template was customized
• Update team process templates
o Retain customizations
• Automate template update processes
• Advise on creating the permissions model
• Migrate SharePoint sites to Teaming
• Create Team Build environment
• Create Lab Management environment
• Create Release Management environment
• Document software build and release procedures, FAQ's, Onboarding and
Troubleshooting docs
• Perform the upgrade of TFS to VSTS and all data/relationship mapping
migration from the old on-prem environments to the new cloud environments
• Develop automated scripts and processes
• Develop requirements and test scripts and lead/participate in test
execution
• Develop training materials and conduct train the trainer sessions
*Experience*
• Experience migrating from TFS on-prem to Team Services with high data
fidelity
o Migration included history
• Experience with large complex TFS environments
• Experience with Visual Studio Online and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• Experience with: install, upgrade, configure and administer Microsoft TFS
• Microsoft TFS best practice recommendations
• Branching and Merging
• PowerShell
• Build and Deployment Best Practices
• TFS Project template customization/maintenance
• Expertise diagnosing/debugging TFS Administrator issues
• MS SQL report generation, manual and automated reports
• Possess good .Net, Microsoft SQL, and Java programming skills along with
Power Shell and API Scripting experience
• Possess solid software build, release and troubleshooting experience
• Hands on experience with report development in Excel
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to convert business needs to technology solutions
