Sr. Engr; Technical Specialist, Infra America - Desktop Engineering (SCCM
Admin)
The End User Computing Team manages the design, implementation and support
of Client
computing environment, which includes Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
workstations, laptops and tablets.
Windows 10 image support currently in development. Responsibilities include
help defining and
supporting hardware standards, engineering and securing the standard
desktop platform, support of our
Software Distribution infrastructure (Incl. imaging) and internal App
Store, product and system lifecycle management, and 3rd level operational
support.

This position primarily assists with the day to day administration of the
client management platform.
Typical duties will include ensuring enterprise client health, remediation
of software and OSD (Operating System Deployment) distribution failures and
overall health of the enterprise client management system. Additional
duties will include assisting with testing of scheduled changes,
contributing to architecture and project based enhancements to the client
management system, designing and managing changes to clients through
various scripting techniques, including large scale Group Policy
management.

Networking Functional
*Responsibilities:*

 Help manage, run and maintain enterprise client management platform
(Microsoft Systems
Center 2012 R2 along with a 2007 instance which still temporarily supports
the majority of the
client base).
 Plan, design, create and support Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 images within both
SCCM and Dell KACE
K2000 systems. Mac imaging a plus.
 Design, test and implement client computing changes
 Create engineered solutions for medium-to- complex initiatives according
to specified
requirements and design and review/approve project requirements.
 Interface with client security teams to assist in effective remediation
through controlled and
organized incident management & response.
 Assist in continually researching, evaluate and provide documented
recommendations for new
technologies and tools within the Desktop Engineering field.
 Identify research, diagnose and escalate (as needed) production problems
such as defects,
questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in systems functions,
outputs, and content.
 Assist in perform upgrades / maintenance activities as well as
troubleshoot system issues by
providing 3rd level and on-call support.

*Requirements:*
 Experience in a large corporate multi-domain/multi- site organization
with >40k users
 8-10+ years developing and deploying unattended operating system
installations (ZTI) for
workstations/desktops/laptops with an in-depth understanding of Operating
System
Deployment using Configuration Manager 2012 or 2007
 Deep experience with endpoint management platforms, specifically Systems
Center
Configuration Manager 2012 R2, especially within the imaging delivery
aspects.
 Strong working knowledge with both legacy BIOS images and newer UEFI BIOS
images
 Advanced level scripting/programming knowledge (vb script, C#,
powershell, .NET)
 Must have experience managing and creating Collections in ConfigMgr 2012
 Experience troubleshooting and enhancing desktop security and
configuration management
capabilities through Group Policy Objects (GPO) as well as the ability to
create custom policies.
 Experience with desktop and application virtualization technologies such
as Citrix XenDesktop,
XenApp, and App-V.
 Expert level understanding of Client and Server Microsoft Platforms. Macs
a plus.
 Solid knowledge of the registry and file system security.
 A solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies including:
Ethernet, TCP/IP,
DNS, firewalls, load balancing, and DHCP are required.
 Must possess a minimum of (8-10+ years’ experience (direct experience,
including best
practices) in Engineering, including knowledge of computer/network systems
infrastructure
requirements and standards.
 Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as
independently with minimal
oversight and guidance.
 Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to
communicate with all
levels of associates in the organization.
 Bachelor's degree in a related field and or equivalent experience is
required (8-10+ years)
 Microsoft Certified System Engineer certification preferred.
 System Center Configuration Manager certification a plus
 Experience working in FDA regulated environments is a plus.
