*Description:*

Application DBA will be responsible for ensuring the proper use of database
systems for application development and support work. May also provides DB
development support for application development, including SQL, Stored
Procedures, etc. Troubleshoot and modify integration issues, understanding
system touch points.  React quickly to system failures, minimizing system
downtime.

*Responsibilities for this Position Include:*

*KEY DUTIES*

   - Ensuring that databases are properly designed from a logical,
   physical, performance, and data governance perspective.
   - Establishing proper monitoring, operational support guidelines, and
   procedures in order to establish highest reliability in the production
   environment.
   - Providing intermediate-level development support to application
   development teams, including design for performance, utilization of DBMS
   features, and debugging technical issues.
   - Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and
   functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery
   specifications.
   - Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and
   designs; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation
   requirements.
   - Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for
   database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance
   requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
   - Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.
   - Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization
   standards.
   - Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending
   educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing
   personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating
   in professional societies.
   - Follows SDLC as key portions of the software development lifecycle
   - Report on database availability, able to document root cause of issues.
   - Monitor the databases to optimize database performance, resource use
   and physical implementations of databases. Checking for database
   consistency, fixing DBCC errors, monitoring of error logs regularly,
   monitoring of database space allocations, transaction log space allocations.
   - Prioritizes, scopes, estimates, and implements changes within the MS
   SQL Server database environment.?
   - Ensures security event logs are maintained.? Ensures all productions
   changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk
   guidelines.?
   - Maintains effective working relationship with application development
   and production support team.

*QUALIFICATIONS*

   - High School diploma or equivalent required.
   - Bachelor Degree in IT or equivalent work experience strongly preferred.
   - Relevant technology certification is encouraged.
   - Required 7 years of IT experience in working on projects,
   data/application architecting, Database Administration, System Analysis,
   Design, Development and Support of MS SQL Servers 2014, 2012, 2008, 2005,
   2000, 7.0 and 6.5 in Production, QA and Development environments.
   -  The ideal candidate would have deep experience the following:
   - Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Client/Server Connectivity,
   Database consistency checks using DBCC Utilities.
   - Installation, Upgrades (In place Upgrade and side-by-side) and
   configuration of MS SQL Server 2014/2012/2008/R2, 2005, 2000 and 6.5
   versions on both Standalone and Cluster Environments.
   - Investigating and applying necessary SQL Server database Service
   packs, Hot fixes and Security Patches.
   - Developing ETL and Data Warehousing solutions writing complex ETL Code
   Using Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including DTS Packages, SSIS and
   SSAS.
   - Integrating MS SQL Server 2012/2008 with 3rd party containers and
   Internet Information Server.
   - Working with Production (7 x 24) environment.
   - Implementing different types of Replication Models like Snapshot,
   Merge and Transactional.
   - Database backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
   - MS SQL Server installation, configuration, Clustering, performance
   tuning, client/server connectivity, query optimization, back-up/recovery,
   running Database Consistency Checks using DBCC.

 *Other desired experience:*

   - Developing customized Data Warehousing, ETL, Business Intelligence and
   On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) applications for enterprise data
   warehouses.
   - Microsoft Data warehousing Framework including SQL Server Analysis
   Services 2008, 2000, SSIS 2008,2005, SSRS 2008, Excel 2007/2010,
   Performance Point 2007, TSQL, ETL Tools.
   - Well versed using DTS, SSIS Transformations and Customizing new
   transformation.
   - Experience in writing Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers.
   - Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
   - Experience in SQL Server Architecture and metadata
