Re: Recipe for LC Server on Ubuntu 18.04?

2018-12-17 Thread Richard Gaskin via use-livecode

Earlier I wrote some annoyance here:
http://lists.runrev.com/pipermail/use-livecode/2018-December/251989.html

Nevermind: I had thought I'd enabled mod_actions, but apparently not.

Now everything makes sense again...

(still would like to update and cleanup the LC Lesson on installing LC
Server on Linux...)

Recipe for LC Server on Ubuntu 18.04?

2018-12-17 Thread Richard Gaskin via use-livecode

This is where we send noobs, and that makes me sad:
http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4070/l/36652-how-do-i-install-livecode-server-on-linux-with-apache

It's poorly formatted and incomplete. I'll fix it when I catch up on
some things, but in the meantime:

Have any of you successfully installed LC Server on an Ubuntu 18.04 VPS?

I've had good luck on Ubuntu 12, 14, and 16, but for some reason I can't
seem to get the CGI enabling happening as it should.

While I'm reading up on that, maybe someone out there has already found
the gotcha and can lead me on the path to enlightenment
