Re: OT: Way to make Safari for Windows run in kiosk mode/full-screen?

2008-10-15 Thread Andre Garzia
Rob,

it's not full screen but you can use the resizeTo javascript routine
to resize the browser to the desired size, it might get you going.

I wish I could, but in this particular case, I need Safari's new HTML5,
embeddible fonts, and local database support.? So I really would like a way to
make Safari for Windows go fullscreen/kiosk-mode.? Like I can using SAFT for
Mac.

OT: Way to make Safari for Windows run in kiosk mode/full-screen?

2008-10-14 Thread rgould8
I have a Rev app which passes data to a database which then needs to be
rendered within a touch-screen kiosk in a web-browser.

I really like the fact that I can embed Fonts with the latest Safari, and while
I can use SAFT for Mac, I haven't found a solution in Windows for making Safari
go full-screen.? Can anyone tell me if there's a way to do this?

I've been faking kiosk mode for years and that's how I do it. On
resume, check the window size is still the same as the screenRect,
resizing if necessary. Set the loc of the stack to the screenLoc and
hide menubars (which also hides the Dock).

Cheers,

Kiosk Mode Goes away

2007-12-16 Thread Sivakatirswami

I'm using Andre Kiosk external, on Leopard now it seems to have issues.

If I boot into my app an turn Kiosk mode on, then all appears as expected.

If I launch them into Safari... after closeing Safari, My stand alone
application comes back, this time with the menu bar appear at the top...
users can click "Quit" and are landed back inthe finder with access to
the local hard drive and everything...

I think at the very least I can issue some kind of "hide menubar" on
resume... so that even though Kiosk mode seems to get axed.. they still
have no menu items.

any ideas appreciated.

Hi Mark,

I thought I remembered mention of a setting that would show a
solid color, instead of the desktop, behind a standalone stack.
Now that I need such an odd feature, I can't figure out what it
was. Can anyone enlighten me, please?

you are looking for "backdrop":

set backdrop to black
## or any RGB value

TIA,

Yes : set the rect of this stack to the screenrect

but you need to adjust the position of objects with the geometry manager

Dear All,

I´m new to the Revolution / Metacard script language so please forgive
me if I
asking the obvious!

Is it possible to have a standalone app with no caption, borders or
menubar?
I also want this standalone app to be fullscreen and always on top...

Many thanks in advance

P.s I forgot to mention that the app is intended for Linux
