FYI, I put this together for building docker images from published
releases: https://github.com/pzampino/knox-docker

No worries Ryan. Created https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KNOX-1285 to
track this further.

 Maybe they will help get you over whatever hump you are stuck on.

 I haven't seen any Knox JIRAs about a docker image, but it definitely
 could be useful.

Re: Official Apache Knox Docker Image?

2018-04-23 Thread Ryan H
Hi Kevin,

I ended up not getting too far with it as I had to put it down to get
another piece of the project out the door with priority. I won't be able to
pick back up with Knox for probably a month or a little longer. I never
opened up the JIRA either (sorry!). The plan is to build out the Knox piece
after the other portion gets "released" as Knox really was a last minute
idea and I didn't want to include it in willy-nilly without having it in a
stable state. The plan is to stay active with Knox, it is just in the
garage for a little bit until we get our initial release out the door.
Anything I can do in the meantime to help (very limited time at this point)?

Cheers,

Ryan

Awesome, thanks for the links. Next time I have some extra free time I will
take a look at the process for feature requests and see about opening one
for an official image. It'd definitely be a nice-to-have.

I have a few examples but none that I would use on a regular basis outside
of testing.

* https://github.com/risdenk/knox_nifi_testing
* https://github.com/risdenk/knox_livy_testing

Maybe they will help get you over whatever hump you are stuck on.

Official Apache Knox Docker Image?

2018-03-25 Thread Ryan H
Hi All,

Are there any plans for an official Knox Docker image? Just curious about
it. I've searched around a bit to see what was out there and there isn't
much in way of Knox images. I've been wrestling with getting one built, but
I'm no Docker pro and can't seem to get one going. Just wondering if there
were plans to include one as a part of the build or not at some point.

Cheers,

Ryan
