Hi Justine,

It seems the issue is permission related. Kindly check if the directory
where you are trying to keep the image (/var/www/) is accessible (read
and write permission) by the OFBiz application.

Re: What is FrenchCustomer

2021-02-23 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hi Emad,

I am able to reproduce the issue you mentioned here, on the demo trunk. On
creating a new customer, a communication event record of type
'EMAIL_COMMUNICATION' is getting created where the PartyIdFrom is
'FrenchCustomer'.

I will dig more into this and will share the findings here.

Re: Offline data management in OFBiz web POS

2020-05-05 Thread Deepak Nigam
Thanks Girish.

Yes rmi-registry is running on the remote service. I have also verified
that the port 1099 is open on the remote server. I am getting the following
error on running the 'testRmi' service from my local machine:

The Following Errors Occurred:

Service dispatcher threw an exception:RMI Invocation Error (Connection
refused to host: 127.0.1.1; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused (Connection refused))

I have made changes necessary changes in serviceengine.xml for main-rmi and
entity-sync-rmi service location i.e. replaced localhost by remote server's
IP address. However from the above error it seems that it is still pointing
to 127.0.1.1.

Re: Offline data management in OFBiz web POS

2020-05-05 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hello all,

Is there any document for enabling RMI in OFBiz? As per OFBIZ-6942
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-6942>, RMI was disabled due to
Java serialization issues. I also tried to revert the changes on local by
referring to https://markmail.org/message/dukv5glk3elilo5z, but it seems
that the file/code structure has been changed now.

I can trigger the RMI service host on the same machine (localhost:1099)
successfully, but it is giving connection error for OFBiz another server
deployed in the same LAN. I have confirmed that another server is
accessible for my machine.

Thanks in advance.

Offline data management in OFBiz web POS

2020-05-04 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hello all,

I hope everyone is doing well in this tough time of the global pandemic.

Is there any support for managing the data offline in OFBiz web POS?
Suppose the scenario wherein the internet connectivity got dropped for a
few minutes, still, the business wants to use the POS system and continue
its operations. Any possibility of achieving this requirement?

I am not sure if it is the best way, but you can use PartyAttribute table
to map customers with product.

Re: Bilingual invoices?

2019-10-23 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hi Josef,

If I have understood your requirement correctly, you can make any screen
bilingual/multilingual with the help of UI labels. UI labels will be
randered based on the locale of your client.

If your clients belong to the same locale and still you want bilngual
support then I think you have to explicitly set the locale in the context
based on the client in the code. You can also provided an option (like
drop-down) to change the language in the UI itself.

For your second question, you can use the 'ProductAttribute' table to have
description of the product in multiple languages and you can show a
particular attribute value based on the locale setting of the user.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Sebastian,

If I understood your points correctly, one important table you are missing
is the 'Person' table. Apart from that, if you also have contact details
related to the parties, you are missing tables like ContactMech,
PartyContactMech etc.

Estimated ship date and estimated delivery date

2019-04-27 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hello all,

What is the reason behind keeping the estimated ship date and the estimated
delivery date non-editable at the order overview page?

Can we make these fields editable like ship after date and ship before date?

Making these fields editable will help the users to better allocate and
manage their inventories (a new feature 'Inventory Allocation Feature' is
in the discussion, OFBiz-10518
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-10518>). Apart from this,
these fields can be used in better communication with the customers about
the delivery of the order.

Thanks & Regards

Maximum order quantity of a product

2018-12-03 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hello all,

I need to set the maximum order quantity for a particular product for the
e-commerce site. I have provided the client-side validation for the same
but it is easily breakable using request interceptors. Also, I don't want
to hardcode it at the backend, considering multiple clients of the ERP
solution.

As far as I know, we can set the minimum order quantity using product price
type "MINIMUM_ORDER_PRICE". Is there a way by which we can set the maximum
order quantity of a given product (both from front-end and backend)?

Re: discussion:provide official docker image of Apache OFBiz?

2018-11-04 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hi Jonhson,

For this, you can apply a hook into a running Docker container using the
command "docker exec -it bash". Basically, you need to
configure your EntityEngine.xml file for using the stock DB. For more
information on how to configure EntityEngine.xml, please visit here
<https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBIZ/Entity+Engine+Configuration+Guide>
.

As for as the sample data is concerned, you can exclude the demo data
reader from the gradle target used to load data. (i.e. don't use ./gradlew
loadAll, use specific one ./gradlew "ofbiz --load-data
readers=seed,seed-initial,ext-seed,ext"). You need to run this command from
the root of your project in the container.

Hi Hatim,

It seems the issue is occurring because the 'BomTree' class neither

Re: Inventory Allocation Planning

2018-08-16 Thread deepak nigam
While creating orders from the backend, we have the option to set
parameters like 'Ship After Date' and 'Ship Before Date' to manage the
fulfilment cycle more efficiently. Inventory gets reserved for the product
based on a FIFO basis. Sometimes the fulfilment time for the order is high
and inventory unnecessarily gets locked for some time period.

We can introduce a new parameter (at order item level) 'Reserve After Date'
which will indicate the date only after which reservation can happen. In
this way, we can manage the stock availability more efficiently.

Re: Tagging GL Accounts Entry

2018-08-15 Thread deepak nigam
Hi Larissa,

By 'customizing GL entries structure' I am assuming that you want to make
changes in the 'GlAccount' and related tables. For that case, to
customize the structure of a table you need to make changes in
'*-entitymodel.xml' file which contains its definition. For example, to
customize 'GlAccount' table, refer the file accounting-entitymodel.xml.

Inventory Allocation Planning

2018-07-31 Thread deepak nigam
Hi All,

In the current implementation of inventory reservation flow, inventory gets
reserved for the order based on the reservation algorithm (FIFO, LIFO etc).
Many times, the fulfilment cycle of the order is too long or due to some
unexpected circumstances, the order holds the inventory for a long time. In
such scenarios, inventory availability becomes one of the major bottlenecks
in fulfilling the other sales order and businesses often remains short
supplied against the demand.

Is there a way to allocate the available and any future supply judiciously
amongst existing customers orders by considering different factors like
estimated delivery dates, order priority, customer preference etc?

Re: Service product with selectable dates/times

2018-07-29 Thread deepak nigam
Hi Leovanche,

OFBiz has the feature of scheduling the services, OOTB. For this:

1. Login to 'webtools'.
2. Click on 'Service Engine' -> 'Schedule Job'.
3. Enter the value in fields (self-explanatory).
4. Click on the 'Submit' button.

For 'master scheduling' i.e. showing all the services scheduled:
1. Login to 'webtools'.
2. Click on 'Service Engine' -> 'Job List'.
3. Enter the filter criteria if required.
4. Click on the 'Find' button. You will get the list of all the scheduled
services.

HTH!

Hi All,

I also tried docker as a development platform by bind-mounting my custom
plugins folder with docker container's plugins folder. It was a good
experience for me, however, I did it just for a PoC. Here is the same
command I used for mounting:

docker run -it --name=docker-ofbiz -d -v ~/plugins/:/ofbiz-17.12/plugins
-p 8080:8080 -p 8443:8443 ofbiz/full-trunk

Re: setting up TAX in ofbiz

2017-08-30 Thread Deepak Nigam
Hi Rajesh,

Most of the mentioned requirements can be fulfilled by setting up data in
entities like TaxAuthorityCategory and TaxAuthorityRateProduct, as the
OFBiz tax engine internally uses data from these entities to perform tax
calculations.

Please refer to the following set of demo data. It can help you.

Please revert in case of any doubt.

HTH!

Thanks & Regards

Do we have the support of features described below OTTB?
