I noticed after connecting to the cloudstack VPN on a Standard Isolated network
that my connection does not have a default gateway. Perhaps this is the reason
I am unable to access the internet while connected to the VPN?

Thanks,

RE: ACS 4.2.1 - Multi-Zone vSphere Architecture

2013-11-26 Thread Sanjeev Neelarapu
Hi,

It is not mandatory to use single dedicated vlan in a multi zone environment.
It is possible to have a dedicated VLAN at each site for vCenter, ESXi console
ports and the system VM's, and then have the ACS server sitting in a separate
VLAN that can route between both networks.

Thanks,
Sanjeev

Subject: ACS 4.2.1 - Multi-Zone vSphere Architecture

Hi all,

Im after some guidance on setting up ACS 4.2.1 with vSphere in a multi zone
environment. The only way I have been able to successfully build a zone to this
point is by having vSphere, ESXi console ports, ACS and the reserved system
range on a single VLAN. This is OK for a small, single site deployment but how
does this translate for multiple zones? The docs suggest that configuring a
single /20 range for management is desired, does that imply that that range
should be stretched across sites?

Should it be possible to have a dedicated VLAN at each site for vCenter, ESXi
console ports and the system VM's, and then have the ACS server sitting in a
separate VLAN that can route between both networks? I have been unsuccessful in
getting his working to date so hopefully someone out there has some experience
setting up a multi-site ACS/vSphere envoronment.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Can you check the value of global config parameters
"cluster.cpu.allocated.capacity.disablethreshold" &
"cluster.memory.allocated.capacity.disablethreshold" .

It seems like new instance CPU/Memory request is crossing the threshold value
of this cluster.

Re: Windows instance DNS entries being lost by AD DNS servers

2013-11-26 Thread Marty Sweet
I occasionally have this issue, haven't for a while though - only effects
Windows VMs.
Seems to affect Windows 2008 R2.

Running KVM, Ubuntu 12.04, Bonding, Bridges, VLANS.

Interesting. That setting is not set on any of the instances. I've asked

4.2.0 LoadBalancing Question with systemvm

2013-11-26 Thread Andrei Mikhailovsky
Hi

I've got several cloudstack guests and physical servers running on one of my
vlans and I would like the load balancing to work between the cloudstack guests
and the physical servers. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks

Andrei

the question of upgrade from 4.0.x to 4.1.0

2013-11-26 Thread Steven Liang
Hi All,

I upgraded from cs 4.0 to 4.1 followed by
https://cloudstack.apache.org/docs/en-US/Apache_CloudStack/4.1.0/html/Release_Notes/upgrade-instructions.html#upgrade-from-4.0-to-4.1
When I did the step 7, I am confused. I just paste the "Security
adapters" at the end of file
/etc/cloudstack/management/componentsContext.xml as
http://pastebin.com/FkEdVCUb
Anyone can tell me if what I did is correct or not?
Thank you.

Regards,
Steven

So there are some PDF tools that will crawl a website and create a PDF
(the one that jumps to mind is Acrobat Pro)

Alternatively you could generate the html for yourself locally in the
same way that we do for publishing:

Is your VPC subnet the same as your “local” LAN subnet?

No Internet after connecting to CS VPN

2013-11-26 Thread Jake G.
Hi all,

From my desktop I am unable to connect to the internet after connecting to a
Cloudstack VPN I set up.

I tried to uncheck the "Use default gateway on remote network" setting in the
VPN connection networking properties in windows and I can get to the internet
but then I can no longer connect to the instances in my CS network, even though
the VPN is still connected. The only way to access my instance in cloudstack
via VPN is to leave that checkbox checked on my desktop.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Thank you,
Jake

Re: How to upgrade cloudstack from 4.0 to 4.2

2013-11-26 Thread Daan Hoogland
Steven,

You'll have to give the community more clues as to what your
environment is. In a clean (lab) environment you would only have to
update the cloudstack packages/management server. But that is probably
not what you want.

update procedures are described in the docs, for several hypervisor settings.

Daan
