Hi all,

As you know we organise the CloudStack Collab oration Conference in
November in Sofia, Bulgaria as a hybrid event.
As you can imagine, this requires enormous efforts - dealing with
speakers, sponsors, facility management, branding, attracting attendees,
online ads, website and much more.
The work on place during the event will also be a significant amount and I
need help.
At this stage I am searching for a volunteer/s to handle the registration
on place.
More details:
The registration will happen only on the first event day and will take
approx. 1 hour. During this period, the task is to find the badge for the
people arriving and to give it to them. We will have printed badges, which
everyone can wear.
I think we will need 2 people for this. And will be very happy if I can
find some volunteers :)

Kind regards,

Re: IP address to use for consoleproxy.url.domain

2022-10-03 Thread Daniel Augusto Veronezi Salvador

Hallo Aufgabe,

We experienced a similar situation while deploying our testing laboratory (QA).

The configuration 'consoleproxy.url.domain' must be a value that would allow
the console to connect with the Management Servers. As we did not want a domain
for our QA and would just access it via IP, we set the MS IP as the
configuration value. However, for this configuration ACS requires a value that
matches a domain ('something.any'); therefore, to set the IP to the
configuration you will have to manually intervene in the database:

UPDATE cloud.configuration
SET value = ''
WHERE   name = 'consoleproxy.url.domain';

If you have a load balancer configured, you would also have to redirect '/resource/'
requests to the CPVM "public IP" (if you are emulating the public IP range).

We are working on a patch that will allow operators to define an IP address for
this configuration. As soon we open the PR, we notify you.

Best regards,
Daniel Salvador

Hello,

I have finally been able to setup cloudstack on Ubuntu 20.04, single host.
I am able to ping the system vm's and my created vm instance.

My problem is that I cannot ssh into the vm instance. I see that I should
be able to login using the console proxy url but I am not sure which IP
address the domain should point to.

For what it's worth, I'm currently working on a private cloud setup for
testing before I change to public setup later

Thanks in advance.

CloudStack Presented at Events

2022-10-03 Thread Ivet Petrova
Hello all,

I am sharing 2 upcoming events, which are quite big an interesting and I think
it worths for pour community to exhibit and to be presented there:
FOSDEM:
Fosdem 2023 is on 4-5 February in Brussels. It would be great if we can get a
stand for Apache CloudStack and some of the community to attend and hang out at
the stand.
I’m happy to do the application for a stand but first wanted to see who may be
able to come along and help out?
The CFP to propose Developer Rooms is also open – my thinking is that we don’t
try to submit a developer room (as they’re limited in number) but instead wait
to see what others submit – hopefully there will be a devroom on IaaS or
virtualisation where CloudStack talks could sit.
https://fosdem.org/2023/

CloudFest:
Cloudfest is on 21-23 March and will happen in Europa Park, Germany. It is the
biggest get together in EU for cloud, hosting and MSP providers and usually
collects 3000-4000 people. Although in Europe, it is visited from big companies
from USA also.My idea for there is to be presented with a booth for which we
will need people to help to be presented there and talk with attendees + some
financial support from the community. The smallest booth is 12 000 EUR and I
will try to discount it a bit, but we will need some help from companies from
the community.
The main target is to attract new users of CloudStack from the cloud industry +
to engage more developers to contribute to the project.
For companies yes which want to sponsor the booth, this will be a great
visibility of their success stories of using CloudStack or building services on
top of it.

https://www.cloudfest.com/

Will be awesome if we raise awareness and engagement around this events.
Please, ping me if you want to join/support/help/sponsor :)
Have a lovely week and Happy OctoberFest :)

Kind regards,
