Sounds great. Last two years we saw interesting participants and it is great to
extend the community.
Good luck!

Hi all,

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2023 has already been announced and the timeline
is available on this link:
https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/timeline. I would like to
volunteer as the coordinator for our GSoC involvement this year if nobody
objects.

Starting from this week, organizations can start submitting applications for
the program. To submit your idea please create a GitHub issue at the official
ACS repository with label “gsoc23” (such as:
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+label%3Agsoc2023),
we’ll later review and work with the ASF guys to make this list available for
applications. You will also need to register as a mentor. To become a mentor
you don’t need to be committer or PMC, just to have an idea and the will to
support and guide a contributor developing it. Registering is also easy, please
send an email to private@ and ask to be recognized as such.

You can find the general information of the program on:
https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/

The announcement for this year:
https://opensource.googleblog.com/2022/11/get-ready-for-google-summer-of-code-2023.html

There are no major changes from the last year’s program, the only difference is
this year GSoC is accepting begginers on open source software development and
students as contributors.

Please directly add your project idea, and of course if you have questions I’ll
be available to help.

Hello,

It's possible that due to an "unclean" shutdown there is probably a
usage
server running that is not having the same pid as the last scheduled
job's

(the linux pid is used in the job schedule table).
To correct this, shut down the usage server and delete the last job
(the one

that hasn't run yet).

Re: Kubernetes stuck in the starting state

2023-03-14 Thread Wei ZHOU
Hi,

You can do some checks in the control node. for example

sudo /opt/bin/kubectl get nodes
sudo /opt/bin/kubectl get pods -A
sudo /opt/bin/kubectl describe pod kubernetes-dashboard-- -n
kubernetes-dashboard

I have no problem with creating cks clusters.

Re: Kubernetes stuck in the starting state

2023-03-14 Thread Wei ZHOU
Hi,

You can ssh into the cks control node from the cloudstack management server.

ssh -p -i cloud@

Here is an example:
# ssh -p -i /var/lib/cloudstack/management/.ssh/id_rsa
cloud@10.0.52.195

The path of id_rsa is different on the ubuntu/rhel management servers.

You can also ssh into other cks nodes with different ports starting with
2223.

Re: Failed to start ACS Agent

2023-03-14 Thread Wei ZHOU
While adding a host on cloudstack GUI, cloudstack will set up the host and
start the cloudstack-agent service. You do not need to configure and start
the cloudstack-agent before that.

Hello,

It's possible that due to an "unclean" shutdown there is probably a usage
server running that is not having the same pid as the last scheduled job's
(the linux pid is used in the job schedule table).
To correct this, shut down the usage server and delete the last job (the one
that hasn't run yet).

secured vnc on EL9 host). Tested login and operations as both root admin and
