So, can you check the logs for errors? Something must have happened that made
the snapshot to get stuck in "creating" state.

Hi Gian,

can you please try same test with iperf ?

I would check remote side (Openswap Debian), since these are bad numbers, and
we never hit similar issue with ACS 4.5 and ACS 4.8 (not yet using 4.9)

FYI, between 2 VPC sites (S-2-S VPN), I was able to get 340 Mbps out of 1Gbps
internet connection, so you can't always expect full link performance simply
because of IPsec protocol overhead (this is with VRs being resized to 4 x 2GHz
CPUs, just for test/fun)...

Hi Gian,

In order to export VM, you need to power it off in XENcenter. But cloud
stack will power it back again. If you shut it down from cloud stack, it
will disappear from XENcenter. That's how XS & ACS works AFAIK.

Simple trick would be, take a snapshot of root disk>>create disk (vhd) from
this snapshot>>Download this vhd and import it into new pool and spin up VM.

Re: Vpc increase resources

2017-04-30 Thread Gian Paolo Buono
Hi Dag,
thank you very much, the first 3 point are ok but I can not find how to edit
the point 4 to change the VPC offering and also I can not assign the new
system offering in the VPC Offering but can assign in Network Offerings.

On 04/27/2017 11:57 AM, Dag Sonstebo wrote:

Hi Gian Paolo,

As a general rule of thumb you can not edit service offerings in CloudStack.
There are unsupported workarounds if you start looking in the CloudStack DB
(service offering table) but in the case of the VPC this is probably not
something you want to do since both isolated networks and VPC networks use the
same service offerings by default.

So – the correct way of doing this is to create new service offerings. For
networks the relationship is Network/VPC > Network offering > System offering,
i.e. the CPU / RAM spec you get is only indirectly linked to your network.

So, to increase the CPU/RAM for your VPC network you need to:

1) Create a new VPC virtual router system offering with your upgraded CPU / RAM
levels.
2) Copy all settings from your current VPC default offering.
3) Create a new VPC network offering, but pointing this to the new VPC VR
system offering you created in step 1.
4) In your VPC tier use the edit function to assign your newly created VPC
offering.

As always – give this a test in a non production environment before relying on
it in production.

The following steps should do the trick:
(i) take a snapshot of the VM disk from the ACS 4.3 environment;
(ii) create a VM template from the disk snapshot;
(iii) download the template;
(iv) upload the template on the ACS 4.9 environment.

Cheers,
Gabriel.

Issue Upgrade CloudStack 4.3 vs 4.7/4.8

2016-09-21 Thread Gian Paolo Buono
Hi all,

I have an installation of Cloudstack 4.3 (Centos 6.5) advanced zone with

The issue appear when I restart management services after upgrade, in

I have tried to change the mysql password:

I have tried to change the parameters in

Any idea ?

Stravos,

Jumping in a bit late on this thread...Can you share the exact
management log error.

We have ran CCP 4.3 with Xenserver, everything is generally ok; most
common snapshot issues are as follows:

Snapshot failing

2. get the id of the volume from the above query and delete

delete from snapshot_store_ref where volume_id=3934 and state='Ready'

3. Snapshots will now succeed for volume DATA-3230.

Snapshot Failing

You may see the following in the logs:

2015-11-17 15:22:16,586 DEBUG [c.c.h.x.r.XenServerStorageProcessor]
(DirectAgent-339:ctx-6465ce91) (logid:9224bc6d) Failed to destroy pbd

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX135230

Note in this example DATA-3701 snapshot is failing, but the
screenshot shows the NFS secondary storage mount for account 29,
DATA-3701 belongs to account 113. So you can go through the tabs
until you find /var/cloud_mount//snapshots/113/3701 and unplug
just that volume.

In this example you will see many attached NFS secondary storage
volumes on the physical xenserver host.

1. Get the uuid of the SR from the "General" tab on the NFS storage mount.

xe sr-list uuid=84142bd7-c19c-4a39-850b-ddd30539d8ed

3. Unplug the pdb using the uuid from above

xe pbd-unplug uuid=c15627c7-a968-ac1f-9794-2e3d66c0cec4

4. At this point you should notice the state change to broken and a
red cross through the secondary mount point in Xencenter.

5. Finally remove the sr from the host completely using the original
sr uuid.

xe sr-forget uuid=84142bd7-c19c-4a39-850b-ddd30539d8ed

6 Repeat this procedure for any other attached NFS snapshot mounts,
check all xenservers.

3. Unplug the pdb using the uuid from above

xe pbd-unplug uuid=c15627c7-a968-ac1f-9794-2e3d66c0cec4

4. At this point you should notice the state change to broken and a
red cross through the secondary mount point in Xencenter.

5. Finally remove the sr from the host completely using the original
sr uuid.

xe sr-forget uuid=84142bd7-c19c-4a39-850b-ddd30539d8ed

6 Repeat this procedure for any other attached NFS snapshot mounts,
check all xenservers.

I recall (quite a long time ago), there was a bug where volumes and snapshots
weren't getting cleaned up correctly.
If I recall correctly, that was somewhere around 4.2.

Thank you it's correct :) , but now I have another question..

From console of CloudStack I have deleted a snapshot, on the database the
status is changed in Destroyed but the file it's stil on secondary storage:

ls -ltr d8736bdb-22c6-46fe-a27e-0ee5dc99a867.vhd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1271296512 Mar 11 04:02
d8736bdb-22c6-46fe-a27e-0ee5dc99a867.vhd

Also in snapshots view sometimes the status is allocated...but what does it
mean ?
