i had a hp msa1000 fiber san and thats what im using for primary, seconday is just nfs on centos. Freenas would help with the nfs mounts. You could do a nfs primary so you could use zfs for snapshots and replication. Do not turn on dedup and if its got a decient processor use lz4 compression on your pools.
