Are there plans to set up a master mirror for Europe
from which other European mirrors could download?

I would like to avoid mirroring from a US site with
a ping RTT of 200 ms.

Best regards

I definitely support the idea of having a central mirror in Europe (or
in $continent), but IMO the server has to be under control of the
DragonFly team. Or least more than one active committer should have
access to the machine (two or three including Matt). Simply to avoid
that this mirror also disappears without former notice and we have to
clean up the mess afterwards.

If somebody provides a machine with decent network connection and space,
I'll happily help out as admin :)

I'm currently redoing the handbook, see [1] for WIP. It's only the first 10
chapters so far, and there are still a few TODOs in the wiki markup (look
for !-- XXX foo --) and overall the format isn't quite as nice as I'd like
to.

We made it again!

The timeline (link below) shows about a week and a half for planning, and
then student applications begin on the 29th of March, and run to April
9th.

If you want to participate as a student, _start planning now_ by talking
on IRC (#dragonflybsd on EFNet) or on the mailing lists. You cannot be
over-prepared.
