The organizing committee of ECI 2011 invites proposals for one-week courses at ECI 2011, which will take place on July 25-30, 2011, at the Computer Science Department at the School of Sciences (FCEN) of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina. For more information about previous editions of ECI, please visit our website at http://www.dc.uba.ar/eci. ABOUT ECI: ECI (School of Informatics) has been held yearly since 1987 by the Computer Science Department at the School of Sciences (FCEN) of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina. Its main objective is to offer participants high-quality intensive courses on subjects usually not covered by the regular curriculum. Attendants to the ECI are graduate and undergraduate students from UBA and other universities, and practitioners from the industry/government, both from Argentina and from neighboring countries. Courses are taught by visiting professors from Universities and institutions from around the world. This gives participants the opportunity to learn new research topics and establish links of academic cooperation. The ECI has repeatedly proven to be an excellent means for promoting research and development. In previous editions, ECI was attended by 350 to 800 participants, each taking from one to three courses. Throughout these years, ECI has been made possible thanks to the efforts of many renowned professors and researchers, the cooperation of the authorities and staff of FCEN-UBA, and the financial support of several private companies and organizations. Previous editions of ECI have been supplemented with software, hardware and book presentations from different companies. Other activities at ECI include talks, tutorials and seminars, making it an excellent venue for academic and professional exchange. 2 questions regarding PF
Hi, 1. Why PF 4.2 not 4.7 or 4.8? OpenBSD page http://www.openbsd.org/faq/pf/index.html has one important remark bolded: In particular, there are significant differences between 4.6 and 4.7. Doeas it mean that I would have to learn something rather old - how to use PF 4.2 instead of PF 4.7/4.8. Right? 2. But support for the PF 4.2 is sorta soft (weak), as well. I wasn't able to find PF 4.2 doc files on DF BSD WWW. I'd like to see them in the form of OpenBSD's PF: The OpenBSD Packet Filter (http://www.openbsd.org/faq/pf/index.html) I think that the pf.conf man should contain version number (4.2) within the head of the file too. Jan Lentfer has been working on upgrading pf - he's gotten us to the present state with a good deal of effort, so I anticipate pf will soon match the released version. I'm not defining soon that exactly. 2. But support for the PF 4.2 is sorta soft (weak), as well. I wasn't able to find PF 4.2 doc files on DF BSD WWW. 2010/11/3 Przemysław Pawełczyk pp...@o2.pl: Yes, I did. :-) But as I said - there are dicrepencies - how big? Where? The rule set changes are major. On the other hand DF should provide good documentation on PF issues. Better than now. you can get 4.2 doc or any older doc from the CVS WEB http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/www/faq/pf/ hope this helps :-) --Siju
