Is there anything in particular you are interested in contributing? Or an area
that interests you?

It will depend on the area you want to work on, for instance the compilers are
written in Java, the Flex SDK in ActionScript. If your interested in build
system we have both ant and maven builds.

We’ll answer questions and help you with any process / procedural issues. If
you contribute patches and show merit we’ll make you a committer and you’ll get
write access to the git repo.

I don’t think there is one simple answer to this, for some areas people are
going to be productive and independent in a very short time (a few weeks say)
in other areas it may take many months.

Nothing other than understand how the Apache way works [1] which will happen
over time as you work on the project. I’d start by reading these [2][3].

This just reminds me of Flash Remote SharedObject and Flash Communication
Server 15yrs ago, still better in most ways, really, at least with
SharedObject, you deal with strong type objects!

Nowadays, it's all politics.
Sad.

Flex Mobile Music player

2016-11-10 Thread leokan23
Hi,

i have a new project which will be an Android & iOS app e-radio player. The
user will be able to scroll through categories and find stations. All the
data will be from RSS Feed as they will be provided from a website radio
directory. I have the following concerns with what i am going to need help:

1. I plan to use the SoundLoaderContext and Sound class which will be
provided with a url to Stream the music. I have used it before to play mp3
from local storage. Will it work when streaming from internet?

2. I want the music to continue play, if the user puts the app in the
background (change app, or hit the recent apps button). I believe there is a
setting for iOS, but what about Android?

3. The last thing, as this will be a music app, i would love to have a
notification with controlls. Something like this [1] or this [2]. Is it
possible to achieve this with Flex or AIR? Is there something similar on
iOS?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with the latest FlexJS developments but I believe you can
use native JS libraries with it. You might want to use the official Firebase
Web SDK for it.

Or if you want a more AS3 oriented approach you can use HTTPService or
URLLoader+URLRequest.

WoW, great work and great documentation, thanks for sharing!
It think this could be also also helpful in a non Firebase context.

Thanks,
Olaf
