Thanks for the clear description.
I tried it in a recent daily build (*) on Ubuntu and imported a jpg
file, and saved as .odt.
That did not show the same error as you report..
So, I've no clue what is happening on your side. sorry,

Re: [libreoffice-users] Creating new global Gallery themes

2016-01-03 Thread Cor Nouws
Hi Dave,

Prompted by your mail to the dev-list that I coincidently see:

Dave Koelmeyer wrote on 17-08-15 09:34:

I think when you download a gallery extension for LibreOffice (or
OpenOffice) and look how that is set up, and combine it with this knowledge:

>
> I see for each global Gallery in LibreOffice an assocated folder
> containing image files, and associated .sdg, .sdv, .str, and .thm files
> are visible in C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4\share\gallery.

should do the trick for a large part?
Extensions can be installed global (admin rights) or added to the
installation (unzipped in ../libreoffice/share/extensions/)

Cor

Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Checkbox in table cell (inside of a frame)

Hi William,

you got a reply from Brian Barker, already on 1 January. He replied only to
the list, that might be the reason, why you thought you didn't get a reply.
I copy and paste his reply to you here again.

But next time, please make sure, that you look on the list or in the online
archives, if you really don't have a reply.

The help text talks of clicking the toolbar icon of the required control
and dragging in the document to create the control. You sound as if you
have tried to drag from the toolbar to the document, but this is not what
is meant.

Instead:
o Click the toolbar icon.
o Move the cursor back into the document.
o Notice that the cursor has changed from the normal I-beam to cross hairs
with a subsidiary rectangle.
o Now drag the cursor from one corner of your desired rectangle to the
opposite. To create an accurate square, hold down the Shift key as you
release the mouse button.
o To cancel insert mode, choose any one: click the icon again, or click in
the document without dragging, or press Esc.

I trust this helps.

[libreoffice-users] Help with the CALC CURRENT() function

2016-01-03 Thread Remy Gauthier
Hi,

I am using CALC in LO 5.0.3.2 on a Fedora 23 (formally 22) system. The
version of LO I use is a version I downloaded from the LO site, not the
version that installs with Fedora.

I had to implement something in CALC that looked more or less like
this:

F(X) = (X+5)*6 + (((25+(X+5)*6-6) MOD 14)

If X is equal to 25, the result is 183. If I place this formula in a
cell (where cell A2 contains 25): =(A2+5)*6+MOD(25+(A2+5)*6-6;14), CALC
indeed provides 183 as the answer. However, the following thing happens
when I try to use the CURRENT() function in that calculation:

=(A2+5)*6+MOD(25+CURRENT()-6;14): The result provided is 182
=(A2+5)*6+MOD(25-6+CURRENT();14): The result provided is 190
=(A2+5)*6+MOD(CURRENT()+25-6;14): The result provided is 183
=(A2+5)*6+MOD(-6+CURRENT()+25;14): The result provided is 193

It is my understanding that the CURRENT() function returns the current
value of the formula being calculated. In the examples above, because
the call to CURRENT() is inside the MOD(), the value of the formula at
that point should be the same (180=(25+5)*6 in my example) regardless
of where CURRENT() is placed since the MOD cannot be calculated before
the two arguments are evaluated.

Is there something I am missing?

Thanking you in advance for any insights/information about this.

Rémy Gauthier.

Close the _connection_ to the database.
Basic snippet generated by MRI:

> Sub Snippet(Optional oInitialTarget As Object)
> Dim oObj1 As Variant
> Dim oConnection As Variant

> Dim oObj2 As Variant

When I access oObj2, fuser reports the office process owning biblio.dbf.
After closing the connection, fuser reports no process.
However, I am not sure about the side effects of connection pooling or
any other office connections to the same database (spreadsheet links,
serial letters, opened forms). IMHO, it could be that other connections
still access your database after closing the connection that had been
established by your macro.

[libreoffice-users] How to close *.dbf files in a Base (makro)

2016-01-03 Thread Walther Koehler
Hello list, high Andrew Pitonyak,

After an SQL UPDATE in a makro, the updated *.dbf is still marked as open
(in LINUX see fuser *.dbf), until the last instance of LO is closed. This is
nasty, because I have usually many files open and want ot access the *.dbf by
other progs. How do I close that file?

[Even
oDoc=dataSource.DataSourceDocument
oDoc.close
doesnt help (the *.odb wasnt open anyway)]

Walther

Andrew, thank you for your makro guide!
