Re: [libreoffice-users] Question about tables and page margins in Writer
Hi, You could insert a 1-inch header that is empty. You can alter the page style or directly format the page: Format -> Page -> Header, then: - Header ON - Autofit height: OFF - Height: 1 inch Note that I am using LO 6.0, so it might be slightly different for you but I think that those settings will work in your version. I hope this helps. Rémy. Le dimanche 12 août 2018 à 13:40 -0700, Tom a écrit : > Hi! I'm running Writer 5.1.6.2 on Linux Mint 18 and had a question > about tables and page margins. Re: [libreoffice-users] Calc
Hi :) The ODF (= Open Document Format) for spreadsheets is .odS the .odT is for text-based documents. LibreOffice can open Microsoft formats such as .xlsx and .xls for spreadsheets. The older format, the .xls, is the better one because it has stopped constantly changing in every release of MS Office. With .xlsx you can never be sure how messed-up it might be, although it does have the advantage that it can handle advanced features (of MS Office) that almost no-one uses - although pretty much everyone thinks they use them because they don't understand that what is routine and basic for a computer is often complicated and tricky for humans. However it is worth noting that it is MS Office that has troubles coping with almost any formats (even with MS formats) whereas LibreOffice can usually handle pretty much anything. So the person sending you the file doesn't have to worry about trying to understand what they are doing and can just send you a file they saved in the normal way they save anything. [libreoffice-users] Opening foreign document from LOBase
Hi, I am developing an LO database and I want to open a PDF document from a button on a Base Form. I want a button on the form that will open a specific, different PDF document for each record. I want it to open the document in the default PDF reader? I have not been able to find anything to help me. I would appreciate a pointer to where I might be able to find instructions on how to do this. [libreoffice-users] Question about tables and page margins in Writer
Hi! I'm running Writer 5.1.6.2 on Linux Mint 18 and had a question about tables and page margins. I'm creating a playlist in Writer and have an image filling the entire background of the page. I have 0 margins so the image covers all available whitespace. I have a table with a header row that repeats on each page. Everything looks fine except when the table spills over to page #2. The header row is repeated but the top of the table is flush against the top of the page. I would like a 1", maybe, gap between the top of the table, on page #2, and the top of the page. Any idea on how to accomplish this? Thanks! Peace... [libreoffice-users] Installing LO on (64-bit) Windows 10
Decided today to install (the Swedish-language version of) LO 6.1.0.3 on one of my Windows 10 (version 1803, updated) machines ; as expected I observed the same problem I've encountered ever since version 5.4.1, *viz*, that if after choosing a typical installation in the Installation Guide, I then check the box for creating an icon on the desktop, when the installation gets to the point that new shortcuts are to be installed, Warning 1909, to the effect that shortcut LibreOffice 6.1. lnk could not be installed and that I should check to see that the the target map exists and that I have access to it, appears in a smaller box also entitled LibreOffice 1.6.0.3 - Installation Guide. When I then click OK, Internal error 2902 ixoShortCutProperty is then displayed in the box and when I again click OK, the installation is rolled back If I do *not *check the box for creating a desktop icon, the installation proceeds nominally and what is more, a desktop icon is created anyway. I've experienced this problem on several different computers, so it would seem to be due to an LO setting, rather than to a software or hardware problem on a particular computer. I've not seen any reference to it on this forum, which surprises me, as I'd have thought that such a rollback would provoke responses from many users ; could it be that only users of the Swedish version are affected ? In any event, I'd appreciate hearing back concerning this matter. What is the standard target map for the shortcut link on Windows, and where can it be found ? I note that I encounter no such problems when installing LO on, e g, Linux Mint, whether directly from the LO website or via the PPAs Henri -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ Privacy Policy: https://www.documentfoundation.org/privacy
