Thank you Mark! I did not realize that an Impress presentation could
have multiple different Master slides.

Have a great week!

Sounds like a trip to the bug reporting system is in order then.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Redaction

2020-01-21 Thread Dave Barton
Hi Drew,

Thanks for the feedback, but under Win 10 I get a 100% readable PDF
(redactions appear as semi-transparent gray blobs) if I use "Export
Directly as PDF" or either one of the two "Redacted Export" options. No
issue under Linux.

Best Regards
Dave

Re: [libreoffice-users] Redaction

2020-01-21 Thread Drew Jensen
Howdy Dave,

That is the review mode (the grey out blocks) so that the reviewers can see
what is being redacted.

You get that when you select the 'direct to pdf' button on the tool bar.

To the left are two drop down buttons, White and Black, click either of
those and you get the PDF with the final redaction.

Best wishes,

Drew

[libreoffice-users] Redaction

2020-01-21 Thread Dave Barton
I have heard the LO Redaction feature mentioned recently and have never
investigated it. Out of simple curiosity I followed the in-built Help
instructions (not available on-line) "How redaction works in LibreOffice?".

With LO 6.4.0.2 x64 under Win10 the resulting PDF does not show either a
white or black redaction, only a semi-transparent gray blob over the
supposedly redacted area(s) and the text is fully visible.

With LO 6.3.4.2 under Linux both the black and white redactions work as
expected.

Does anyone else see this issue with LO 6.4.0.2 x64 under Win10?

Dave

Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Impress: Focus template background

2020-01-21 Thread libreoffice-ml . mbourne
Those images are part of the "master slides". Each of the four initial
slides in the template uses a different master slide. The master slides
have the images placed behind other content. You can assign whichever
master slide you want to each slide (Slide > Master Slide), including
the initial four and any others you add, to pick up the corresponding
image (and layout of text placeholders).

Mark.

As stated in the OP, it's not really a background as it is not using
the Impress background feature, but for display purposes it appears to
the view as a different background on each slide. This is not a custom
animation.

How is this effect achieved?

Re: [libreoffice-users] LO 6.3.0.4 issue

2020-01-21 Thread waterbearer54
Yes, more information about your OS and setup would help.

Since this seems not to be a problem many people have seen, you can
also try a couple of things.

One, if you are using plugins, try disabling them and see if the
problem persists.

Two, try creating a fresh profile. Some recent changes have forced me
to redo the profile.

To test the profile, simply go to your profile (e.g., in most/all Linux
versions a folder located in the hidden .conf folder of the home
directory) and rename it. Then start LO, which will create a new,
default configuration folder. If you can close and re-open without the
tip of the day reappearing, then you can either redo your profile from
there or manually copy element from your old profile to identify the
problem. Being able to copy most of the old elements saves redoing the
whole profile (e.g., templates, installing extensions, changes in look
and behavior, etc.)
