Subject: Re: [libreoffice-users] Extracting content out of table format received in an email

2022-02-26 Thread charles meyer
Hi All,

I've tried forwarding the newsletter but it doens remove the "tables" but
next time I'll try to recall using Calc.

I'm afraid that will remove the graphics.

I;ve taken to taking screenshots and pasting it but that can be
labor-intensive with long newsletters.

It's a lot like extracting a PNG received in a gmail message body.

If I forward the message, and Crl/A, Ctrl, Ctlr/C and Ctrl/V not Writer or
Word it won't paste in the PN

It WILL paste in a jpg.

Thank you for your kind help.

Charles.

Re: [libreoffice-users] opening a csv file in a calc sheet

2022-02-26 Thread Philip Jackson

Thank you everybody. It is the 'insert sheet from file' that does the job for
me.

I couldn't find it in the help docs because I wrongly focused on looking for
info on 'import file into sheet' rather than 'insert sheet from file'.

Just shows the need for more lateral thinking. Thanks again.

And you can also right click in the sheet list at the bottom and insert a sheet
from file.

I sometimes have to work on data which arrives to me in csv text files. I would
like to have each csv file's data in a separate sheet within a single calc
file. No matter how I try to open the csv files, each one opens in a fresh calc
spreadsheet and I have to manually copy / paste the data into a new sheet in my
main calc spreadsheet.

Is there a way to open a csv file and have the data imported directly inside a
new sheet of an existing calc file ?
