Re: [libreoffice-users] Incorrect font colour when printing in Base

2019-06-30 Thread Adam Fenn
Hi Robert,

> Attachments aren't allowed here.

Sorry.

> If you wan't to print a letter with Base you could better use a report.

I just want something quick and easy. When I tried making a report it was very
slow and I ended up with a report made up from every letter I had ever written,
which is not what I want.

> What is the difference between the fields you could or couldn't print
> with the choosen colour?

I have discovered that the ones that work were all multi-line and the ones that
didn't were single-line fields. By changing all fields to multi-line they print
with my chosen colour. All except one, which is a date field with a drop-down
box and cannot be changed to multi-line.

Thanks,
Adam

[libreoffice-users] Incorrect font colour when printing in Base

2019-06-29 Thread Adam Fenn
I have created three forms in Base; Clients, Letters and Letters_Print so that
I can create and print out unique letters. I have changed the font colour of
all fields in Letters_Print to Dark Blue 1 via Control > General > Font. All
looks as I want except that when I go to print the letter only the address and
text body fields are in dark blue. All others remain in black. What am I doing
wrong? I include an example with the problem.

Thanks for any help,
Adam Fenn

[libreoffice-users] Option Buttons not working in Base

2019-05-21 Thread Adam Fenn
I have three option buttons (Confirmed, Enquiry, Cancelled) all linked to a
status field (Control > Data > Data field).

When I click on the Confirmed button it works as expected but I can not unclick
it and the other two buttons do not work at all.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I'm using Libreoffice 6.1.6.3 on a
Mac.

Thanks,
Adam Fenn

[libreoffice-users] Getting a line break through a query

2019-05-15 Thread Adam Fenn
The base documentation states that you can get a line break using Char(13) e.g.

SELECT "Firstname"||' '||"Surname"||Char(13)||"Road"||Char(13)||"Town" FROM
"Table"

However, when I run this I just get the concatenated query on one line with no
line breaks.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks for your help,
Adam Fenn.

When I try to add the field using the Add Field icon LO crashes without fail.
Is there a way around this?

Thank you for your help Girvin.

I can only get this to work (with a list box) if there is only one project for
each client.
If I have two separate project records with the same client id I get an error.

I have nearly 1000 clients. It would be tedious scrolling through those looking
for a client, or am I missing something?
I was hoping I could recreate my old Filemaker method of linking the records.

Thanks,
Adam

[libreoffice-users] Concatenating fields in related form

2018-09-16 Thread Adam Fenn
I have a Client form with ClientID, FirstName and LastName fields and a Project
form with ClientID and FullName fields. In Filemaker I was able to type in a
client id into the Project form and it would insert the first name and last
name from the Client form into the FullName field of the Project form. How can
I do this in Base?

Hope that is clear.
TIA, Adam.
