[libreoffice-users] LibreOffice very slow on OS X
LibreOffice 3.5.0 is unusably slow for me on my laptop, which is running OS X 10.6.8, with *considerable* delays between a keypress and the character actually showing up on the screen. (Admittedly, this is a four-year-old machine, but it's run Microsoft Office 2008 and 2011 and older versions of OpenOffice.org reasonably well.) This occurs in every LibreOffice application. If the problem is on my end, where can I start troubleshooting to figure out where exactly it lies? If the problem is with LibreOffice, will upgrading to 3.5.1 solve my issue? What else can I do? -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] Re: Queries wizard in Base
Sylvain Bromberber sbrom...@mit.edu writes: The Queries wizard in my Libre Office 3.05 simply does not work. Nothing happens when I click on it. Queries through Design works fine. I tried by starting a new Base file to determine whether the problem was with the base file on which I was working but same problem: nothing happens when I click on the wizard option to form a query form. Is there a fix? This doesn't work for me either with LibreOffice 3.4.1 on OpenBSD. Something tickles in the back of my brain to say this wizard may require Java (which I don't have installed), but I could be way off base. Do you have Java installed? -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] Re: Top posting
Marc Grober m...@interak.com writes: Frankly listservs make very poor knowledge bases for the obvious reasons, hence the efforts by some in other communities to distill the problem/resolution couplet into dynamic online docs where a user will find current comprehensive succinct and useful information. Such distilled couplets are a great resource provided they're kept up to date--which in my experience they often aren't. Or even, somebody sees such a couplet, but dated several years ago, and then posts to a mailing list to make sure it's still correct: you get the worst of both worlds. So yes, mailing lists do make poor knowledge bases--but then, they're not meant to be knowledge bases (or, for that matter, a substitute from reading actual documentation). Knowledge bases make poor mailing lists, too.
[libreoffice-users] Re: Themes for libreoffice Impress ? Where to get more ? And how to create ?
shirish शिरीष shirisha...@gmail.com writes: Now my main question/query is where do I find more such themes at ? Does anybody know any sites where such user-generated custom 'themes' could be found ? Bonus points if one could browse them with keywords. Try http://templates.libreoffice.org/template-center and use the Categories dropdown menu to select Presentation templates. There is a search box there as well.
[libreoffice-users] Re: Fw: LibreO-Base is lying about my age!
Andreas Säger ville...@t-online.de writes: The problem has nothing to do with LibreOffice. It is a built-in function of the HSQL database engine. I am sure that it is designed to work like this. '' is not a valid argument for the datediff function. This is the home page of that software: http://hsqldb.org/ Version 2.2 is documented here: http://hsqldb.org/doc/guide/ Version 1.8 is the integrated database engine of LibreOffice. Its documentation seems to be gone by now.
