[libreoffice-users] MailMerge Bug Report

2023-10-23 Thread Reinhard Klapproth

Hi,

I've reported a bug on bugzilla concerning Libreoffice Writer MailMerge
on Oct. 10:

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157691

MailMerge ist bloating pdf files when mailing to a large list of
recipients. No one has yet confirmed the bug. That might be difficult,
because the error only occurs when mailing to a large list. Has anyone
an idea what can be done about the bug?

[libreoffice-users] Lost file content

2023-06-16 Thread Schweitzer-Stenner,Reinhard
To whom it may concern!

I have a serious problem with a book chapter that I nearly completed some weeks
ago with Libre Office. I opened and closed it several times so there is no
doubt that I save the content. Two or three weeks ago I opened the file again
just to discover that help of its content was gone. I couldn’t find any other
copy of the file on iCloud or on the recently opened list. I found some hints
online about what to do, several of them recommended to go to

Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Paths

but I can’t find this path anywhere on my MacBook (even after making hidden
files visible. I would very much appreciate some help open on this matter. I
invested considerable time to write this part of the chapter. I thank you
advance for your response.
Sincerely
Reinhard Schweitzer-Stenner

[libreoffice-users] Re: Install RPM as non-superuser

2012-03-22 Thread Reinhard
Hi Jay,

of course I know sudo, I have been using UNIX since 1987 :-) The problem is
when you have no priviliges,
e.g. your work as a contractor for a short time in some company, or
installations are forbidden on a company computer (only local
installations). And I described a local installation with user rights. It is
really necessary
to allow this!

BTW, I use OpenSuse 11.4 recently but this does not matter here.

Still another topic: With such an tgz, one can use stow
(http://www.gnu.org/software/stow/stow.html) to have a personal,
nevertheless managed installation. I know of a company using stow
exclusively.

Greetings,

Reinhard
