[libreoffice-users] crash on opening as user but not as root. libreoffice6.3
I must append SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen before running libreoffice6.3.4 to get it to open. However, as root I can open it only as libreoffice6.3. Any thoughts as to why I can't open it as a user? I am using Linux x86_64 under Mageia7 and installed rpm packages. Any thoughts as to why it will not run as a regular user without the SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen? [libreoffice-users] LibreOffice 6.3.2.2 fails to run in Mageia7 with segfault
I just upgraded to Magiea7.1. libreoffice 6.2.3 from the Mageia repos works. but I downloaded the rpm for 6.3.2.2 and installed it, but it fails with no error message. dmesg shows: 508.700492] soffice.bin[23861]: segfault at 1110 ip 1110 sp 7ffe24215808 error 14 in soffice.bin[40+1000] [ 508.700500] Code: Bad RIP value. [ 592.562306] soffice.bin[27795]: segfault at 1110 ip 1110 sp 7ffe41870a28 error 14 in soffice.bin[40+1000] Appears to be creating segfault. It did not do this when I ran it under Mageia 6. [libreoffice-users] linux install of 4.2.3.3 failed with 'unpack' errorI
I just tried to install the x86_64 version of LibreOffice 4.2.3.3. I am running Mageia3 and have installed all previous versions with the only problem of being told that the packages are not signed. I can usually override this. This time the install failed with the following message: error: unpacking of archive failed on file /opt/libreoffice4.2/program/libfrmlo.so;53471b55: cpio: Digest mismatch ERROR: 'unpack' failed for libobasis4.2-core04-4.2.3.3-3.x86_64: error: libobasis4.2-core04-4.2.3.3-3.x86_64: install failed the sha256 sum on the tar file is correct so it does not appear to have been corrupted in download. Is this a bug or is there something else I should do? [libreoffice-users] problem removing duplicate string in calc
I have a column of terms that I pasted from two text files. I have tried to remove duplicate terms from the list but have the continued problem of having some of the duplicated terms not removed. One example is the term Adrenal hyperplasia and the other duplicate is adrenal hyperplasia. I have used the standard filter with the filter being Col A = Not Empty and have checked the buttons for remove duplicates. I have left unchecked the button for Case sensitive assuming that that would allow for 'Adrenal' to be the same as 'adrenal'. However, that appears not to be working and I don't understand why. If anyone could help me understand what I am doing incorrectly, I would appreciate it. Both lists were taken from simple text files and pasted into Calc. I combined them into one long column and then tried to remove the duplicates from it. Thank you in advance. This does not address your actual query, but a workaround might be to create a new column with =LOWER(An), =UPPER(An), or =PROPER(An). This will create copies of your text items where the examples you give would become identical. You could then filter based on that column instead of the originals. The extra column could be hidden or deleted later if you prefer. Indeed, you might be happiest using one of these forms of the converted data in place of the originals. I trust this helps. The bad news is that you just found a Bug in the Advanced filter. I just did a quick test and previous versions of LibreOffice and OpenOffice have the same (or worse!) problems. Your only option to solve the problem is to use Excel or maybe some other spreadsheet. Unfortunately Gnumeric doesn't have a case sensitive option. Sorry I did not reply sooner. I have been away. thanks to everyone for responding. I have had problems with the plugin for a while. I stopped using it at one point (forget which version of LO) when the ability to enable it disappeared as a choice within the options. Once I upgraded and the choice was available, it never worked; always a blank page. This has been the case through FF 9, 10, and now 11. I will check over at mozilla to see if anyone thinks the browser may be an issue. [libreoffice-users] Browser plugin gives blank page
I have LO 3.5.2.2 running under Linux (Mandriva 2011) and Java 1.6.0.29. When I enable the browser plugin and try to read a Chapter from the documentation as a test, I get a blank page. I have FF 11.0. I have tried searching about this, but cannot find anything. the document never appears within the browser. I have to disable the browser plugin and download the document separately into LO. Any help would be appreciated. [libreoffice-users] LO3.4.3 -- no browser plugin available
I recently installed LibreOffice v3.4.3. I am running Linux (Mandriva 2010.2), and FF 6.02. My system is x86_64 as is the LO version. FF is i586 and installed in my /opt directory. LO when I open it and open the 'Options' has no browser choice available under Internet choice on the left of the Options dialog. I believe libnpsoplugin.so is the plugin and I tried copying it to the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugin directory but it did nothing. Has the plugin been deprecated in 3.4.3? Thanks for your help.
