[libreoffice-users] Italics and bold in BASE.
Hello, I´m a Libreoffice user and I´d like to use italics and bold in Base. Is it possible? It would be so important to me. I'm sending a print screen about my question. This is what I´d like to do, and I'm doing it with Writer without problems. It have regular, bold and italics: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4055827/14250d3.jpg When I copy and paste it in BASE this is the result: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4055827/2wnwdps.jpg And I can´t do it directly in BASE anyway... What could I do to use it? Hi The short answer to your question is Yes. You can use Bold and Italics in your Forms and in your Reports in Base. In both cases you must be in design mode. Have you been able to design a Form without using Bold or Italics ? I use the Styles and Formatting window (F11 opens it) to select italics, bold, bold italics, and a variety of font sizes in my database forms. Where do you want to use italics or bold? There are two areas for data management: the data themselves and the presentation of data. For ease of development, both are *always* kept apart (if not, they should be). As Base is a... well... *data*base, there's no need for any presentation setting there. The data presentation is the job of a form (done using Writer), a mailing (using Writer as well) or a report (in Base). As for the reports, and if I'm not mistaken, the report tool-s in Base allow for presentation settings. But perhaps I didn't understand your concerns well.
