[libreoffice-users] Printing problems Windows 10 x64, printer Kyocera FS-1061DN, LibreOffice 7.0.0.3 x64
Hi, I am using a PC with Windows 10 Pro x64, printer Kyocera FS-1061DN and LibreOffice 7.0.0.3 x64. The Problem is now, that it is not possible to pass important printing parameters as single side or double side print to the printer. The printer can only be used with his standard parameters. When I tray to set the parameters out of the LO-Application (Calc, Writer), I get the Kyocera popup, where I can put in all parameters. When finishing this Dialog an error popup occurs telling me that an invalid access occured. The message included the path C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\soffice.bin. When continuing, the print will be started, however ignoring the parameters of the setting. Therefore I can only print double side. The new LO has now the functionality for the Input of all parameters without using the Kyocera popup, however the same error message occurs, when ending the dialog. When using simple printers as Microsoft print to PDF such problems doesn’t occur and other applications as e.g. Acrobat Reader allow to set all printing parameters. If I need now a single sided print, I have to print single sided to .pdf and then from .pdf single sided to paper. However I would like it very much, when a direct printing according to the needs would be available. Hi Steve This sounds to me personally that you have a system wide setting somewhere to default document type, or printed type to PDF. This is overriding anything you set in LO, hence you re-opening Calc and find it set back to PDF. What O/S (Gnu Linux/Distro) are you running, as I am using Ubuntu Raring. I am on the road at the moment, with a client (windows only I'm afraid, so cannot test here), but can check later in Ubuntu on how to change your system default settings. Hi, I search to set A4 paper size only in LibreOffice because i have set in my printserver CUPS the option A4. In France, we use this paper size. If the paper size is US Letter in LO, i doesn't work. Re: [libreoffice-users] Printing problems
Hi :) I find that tricky too actually. Everyone in this country seems to have their printers configured to print on US letter despite actually using A4. Then if someone sends them an A4 page to print onto the A4 it comes out as 2 pages with just a tiny bit of the page printed at the top of the next sheet. On my own machines, well the company's machines, i go around and set them to print on A4 but then if a new machine arrives i have no idea whether it's trying to print to A4 or what. Also what about new users logging in at a machine they haven't used before? Are they now on US Letter again or not? It seems that with LibreOffice it always seems to know that A4 should be being used. None of this messing around. Re: [libreoffice-users] Printing problems
You want to get all of the printers to work no matter what applications print to them? You have how many PCs on your network? In another post you state there are 20 printers configured. So far, I do not know of any easy way to setup 5, 10, or 20 users to have the same settings for LibreOffice, and add over 10 printers in the mix makes it worse. How many of these printers have a display panel build in? I know that you can set the default paper types there. But you still need to setup the LO application to default to the printer. Is there any way you can setup a default .config/libreoffice hidden folder and place it on every PC running LO. If you create one that has no user info in it, you should be able to copy it to the other Debian-based PCs. Windows users would be harder. To be honest, I have only about 6 systems configured for, currently, three network printers. Two systems are dual-booting Ubuntu and Windows laptops. But it seems you are wanting to set up many printers to the Postscript instead of PDF on several computers. Sorry, but there is no easy way to do this. As I said, you can use the LO Printer Administration application listed in the same menu as LibreOffice. That will be the easiest way to work on all of the printers that that computer has access to. Click on the printer and the Properties button. Go to the Device option and change the printer language type of the selected printer. That is the only way I know how to do it easily for all the printers that that computer has access to. Then if you did not set up any information in the Tools / Options / LibreOffice / User Data that is only for that system, then you may have the generic .config/libreoffice information that could be copied to the other Debian-based computers you are using on your network. By replacing the original file with this generic one you should have all of the systems setup the same way. The only issue might be if you are running both 32-bit and 64-bit Debian-based systems on your network. Of course I am assuming that you are not the only one on the network with 20 printers to do your bidding. I do not know why you have to reload the printers unless the wrong driver is installed. -- Jay Lozier jsloz...@gmail.com -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscribe@global.**libreoffice.orgusers%2bunsubscr...@global.li breoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/**get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-** unsubscribe/http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-un subscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.**documentfoundation.org/** Netiquette http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.**libreoffice.org/global/users/http://listarchives. libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- MILOT Jean Tél. : 0659514624 milot.j...@gmail.com -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

That is what should happen, but for me (and others) it always reverts to PDF when I open Calc again. There has been quite some discussion on this previously around not being able to print landscape from LO, it is just something I need to remember to do. I was having this problem since upgrading, until I read Kracked _P_P's thread above. I completly forgot to change it. I am using LO: Version: 4.1.0.1 Build ID: 410m0(Build:1) and so far it is retaining the Postscript option. I have opened and closed both CALC and Writter several times. I will see what happens tonight when I shut down. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- openSUSE 12.3(Linux 3.9.8-1.gf3348a8-desktop)|KDE 4.10.5 release 4|Intel core2duo 2.5 MHZ,|8GB DDR3|GeForce 8400GS(NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-319.32) -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] Printing problems with a table and grpahics
I'm creating a small sign simply for posting on local bulletin boards at convenience stores, grocery stores, etc. I've created screenshots and posted them here: http://db.tt/ekrMxDCg Document.png is a screenshot of the sign. The blueish-green boxes will not be part of the sign. I'm hiding contact information I don't want posted on the World Wide Web. grin Page Preview.png displays what I want to have. But, if I go to print the document, the entire image comes out with just huge pixels.Print Preview with graphic.png. If I remove the graphic image that says computers, no pixelization. Print Preview without graphic. This leads me to think the issue may lie with the graphic. The graphic in the screen shots is a PNG file created by Inkscape .048. But, if I convert the PNG file to a JPG (not saving as a JPG from Inkscape), the print preview is fine. I also tested importing an SVG version of the graphic created by Inkscape, but the graphic did not import correctly. But, based on the Print Preview, it will print correctly. So... 1. Does LO have issues with PNG graphics? 2. Does LO have issues with SVG graphics? -- Ken Mac OS X 10.6.8 Firefox 9.0.1 Thunderbird 9.0.1 LibreOffice 3.4.4 -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
