You must be using LO from the PPA. LO from documentfoundation.org works just fine, as does OOo from openoffice.org. Note comment #84 in that bug report. I found a solution (I don't remember on which forum) for ooo by mean of this command line : sudo sed -i '5s|true|false|g' /usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.*/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Recovery.xcu That's not a solution; it turns off recovery. Of course this solution doesn't work for Libreoffice... I don't find the similar file and thus fix the problem. Download install the .deb (don't forget to add the help file) from: http://www.libreoffice.org/download and install.
