Re: [libreoffice-users] template paths

2013-05-04 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
The wiki-guide should give the link to all three and to the distro that uses a
non-standard path.  (there's always 1 that has to be different).  Luckily
someone else pointed out that from inside LibreOffice the menu system is
different in Apples.  In both Windows and Gnu&Linux you can do

Tools - Options - Path
but OS X is different.

To quote Tink (but re-arranged a little jic that makes it easier to see instead
of just messing it up)
"
For OS X Paths
Applications - Libre Office

then Right click to:

Show Contents - Contents - Share - Templates

BTW. OS X Options are in LibreOffice Preferences, you will find Templates
under Paths.

Tink
"

I think Dan and someone (Alex?) pointed this out earlier in the thread too.

In my last post i said something about Apple people not coming here much.  One
of my worries is that they are getting their help&support from some other place
that may be completely clueless about LibreOffice.  It would be better if they
came here to reach people that do know a lot about LO;  people such as Regina,
Dan, Brian, Alex, Joel and all the rest.  If they are going to the AskLO bot
then that is fine as there are excellent people there too.  The problem would
only be if they were using some 3rd party site that doesn't even point them
anywhere here at all and has a standard answer of recommending MSO or AOO or
NeoOffice instead of really being able to help them.

Not everyone here knows the different route into the Options dialogue-box but
as we have seen there are enough people to correct that blunder and then the
rest of the complexity of the answer is the same on all 3 main platforms and
even on BSD too.

Regards from

Tom :)

Thanks, but I guess I should have been more specific:

I don't have access to a Windows or OS X machine with LibreOffice installed,
or I would have looked it up myself. You notice I don't ask about Linux,
because I could look that up for myself.

Assuming you meant templates for LibreOffice try opening writer (also
will show in calc, draw or Impress) and look at:
tools --> options --> LibreOffice --> Paths
this lists the various paths.

Thanks,
You can do this typing two keys together: the Command and comma. Click
Path in left side of the window that appears. Select Templates, and you
should see both paths that you want.

Hi :)
Isn't it somewhere in the "User Profile"?
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/UserProfile

If you open LibreOffice and go to

Tools - Options - Paths

that should tell you, i think.

I am trying to find the location of template directories for both the system
and for user accounts for both 32 and 64bit installations for OS X and

Can anyone help me out? I'd be especially grateful for OS X paths.
