Fwd: Re: [libreoffice-users] new version of LO gives gibberish for excel file.
Hi All. I had responded, but failed to reply-all that is usually automatic with mailing lists. In any event it did not happen. Here is my response, sent to Dries Feys only but intended for all of you kind folks. I installed the MS Excel Viewer, and now the file opens flawlessly. I have NO idea why. I wonder what the heck was wrong. The only thing I did in the interim was to fetch the MS Excel Viewer. I wonder if something came with that that enabled LO, a font or something that enabled LO. Many thanks for prompt response. Warmest Regard David Teague On 3/1/2013 9:40 AM, Dries Feys wrote: David, This works just fine with LO 4. Of course, there might be other issues. Hi :) It might be worth writing to the board-discuss list to let them know you are not happy with the way replies to the list work. You are not alone in that! Congrats about fixing your problem tho! A tad weird but good to know you fixed it. Nicely done! :) Congrats and regards from Tom :) From: David B Teague sr davidbtea...@comporium.net To: users@global.libreoffice.org Sent: Wednesday, 6 March 2013, 21:56 Subject: Fwd: Re: [libreoffice-users] new version of LO gives gibberish for excel file. Re: Fwd: Re: [libreoffice-users] new version of LO gives gibberish for excel file.
It all depends on how your mail client (standalone or online) works. When a reply automatically posts to the list, Thunderbird has the standard Reply and Reply All options. If the reply goes to the individual, they change to Reply and Reply List. This strikes me as being the most sensible approach.
