If we tell people to use OOo training for LO, would the just encourage the users to try OOo and use it? Please read again carefully. I didn't advise to seek OOo training, but rather OOo /trainers/. LibO being a close relative, they will most probably consider adding it (or replacing OOo) to their offering. By going to Google, I found a few sites that offer training in/with LibreOffice. Yes OOo training has more links, but it has been around for a longer time. Last year there were posts about training offerings for LO. SO if a person wants LO training, give that person references to LO training, not OOo. Offer that person the links to our Guides and other documentation. Guide and documentation are, at most, self-learning, not training. Re: [libreoffice-users] Training
Hi :) I don't think it matters. I think i see OpenOffice (now it's not actively trying to be an enemy) as a close brother/sister. We might argue or disagree but it's the 2 of us against the world. Hmm, well AbiWordGnumeric, Google-docs, Calligra, KOffice and the rest, perhaps even Lotus Symphony are really also in the same family imo. Lotus is stretching it a bit as it's not OpenSource is it? or is it? I don't think we need to aim at domination when we are so good at working with or alongside the various other choices that the family gives people who may have different requirements at different times. Just a fair percentage in a free market economy. Hopefully we can help each other get there. It is best to give links to LO stuff if possible and there are some things out there that are probably just really well hidden. Does documentation count as training? I guess it might well be close enough so it's good to give. The wiki page has some odd things that might include training. It would be great to add more 3rd party training and documentation to that page. Anyone ready to learn how to edit a wiki? or anyone who already knows and has the time? I do not remember their URLs, but I remember seeing one or two a few months ago. You do know that there are many PDF file guides and you can but a printer version at Lulu.com? This link is the first place to look for documentation. The document teem is slowly writing a new updated set of documents, and the current version are listed on this page as well. http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/ The current price for the printed version of Calc Guide, is $22.80 plus s/h. That is a good price for a print-on-demand 418 page book. -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Thank you kindly Hello Deon Well, depending on where you live there may be free training available - at least in the USA there are quite a few public libraries which offer such (often listed under another product name, but for the most part that is still valid training). For some video tutorials you might check out these: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheFrugalComputerGuy The fellow there is compiling a rather broad set of tutorials. Hi :) It does slightly depend on which country you are in. Some 3rd party training is already rolling out in parts of south america and a few other countries apparently.
