Re : How to change Phone Number to Name when getting SMS on phone screen

2011-03-23 Thread Kidi Kidi
I have replaced the From Field by a name and sent a SMPP message to my phone,
but i didn't get any
 message. But if the From Field is my shortcode i do get my message.
So i think hamza are right by saying you can only use it if it is allowed by
your telco operator over
 the account allotted to you.
Is there a way to do it without my telco operator support?

No
You can use an alternative telco for MT messages.

Hi Kidi,

what exactly are you setting in the from field? It may be that you
are using invalid characters or the text is too long.

I believe there is a limit of 11 characters when using alphanumeric
origination. Also only a subset of GSM 03.38 is supported.

Bearerbox routing of packets from opensmppbox

2011-03-23 Thread Jim Wilde (CP)

Hi,
Looking for some advice on routing within bearerbox of messages
submitted through opensmppbox.

I have 2 smscs defined, GSM modems each with a particular number.

group = smsc
smsc-id = smsc1
smsc = at
modemtype = auto
device = /dev/ttyS0
speed = 9600
my-number = +85269381702

group = smsc
smsc-id = smsc2
smsc = at
modemtype = auto
device = /dev/ttyS1
speed = 9600
my-number = +85253717105

My SMPP client is configured to set the source address of the SMPP PDU
to one of these numbers, and I want the MT to be delivered using the
relevant smsc connection.

MO is working OK with the following routing:

group = smsbox-route
smsbox-id = memova
smsc-id = smsc2
shortcode = +85253717105

group = smsbox-route
smsbox-id = memova
smsc-id = smsc1
shortcode = +85269381702

 could you please answer some questions:
 - how these packages compiled

 I patched 1.5.0 source with official Debian diff (actually tar file)

 Sqlite3, Postgresql and MySQL.

 - compiler/configure flags used

 Do you have some place to upload packages and we will push those then to

 Yes, I can upload it but would like to know first if the configuration

 I have built Kannel 1.5.0 (development release) for Debian squeeze

Problem with configuring kannel+sqlbox+smppbox

2011-03-23 Thread Pavel Ageev
Hi there

I'v got some problems with configuring kannel with all addons

First of all, today i have good working configuration
SMSC--- BB --- SMPPBOX --- SMPP CLIENTS
Detailed:
I have connection to real smsc, which have about 70 shortcodes. I receive all
messages by that connection, and must route this packets to different
smpp-clients according to shortcode (they all connected to our smppbox)
Everything is going good... but i need to store all routed sms to my database.
Of course, i found addon called sqlbox, but i dont understand how to
configurate all this scheme, to catch up all incoming and outgoing messages by
sqlbox, and only after that route them to smppbox, so i need
SMSC--- BB --- SQLBOX --- SMPPBOX --- SMPP CLIENTS

I, just try to configure my sqlbox as i saw in example, but sqlbox just
connect to BB and dont receive any messages, they like always go through the
smmppbox to clients (boxes)

Plz, i really need help.

As i know, you need to watch configs to help in problem

Subject: Not Receiving DLR Update from Kannel via HTTP

Hi All,

Kannel is receiving and processing DLR's correctly from our aggregator, I
think - except for the comment about sscanf, but Kannel does not seem to be
making the HTTP request to the dlr-url I configured in the request. Below
are the logs and everything seems correct. Is there perhaps something new in
v1.5.0? As we were previously using 1.4.0. I never see any requests to my
KannelDLR.axd page.

If there is any other information you need please let me know.

SMPPBOX SMPP Clients

2011-03-23 Thread Lee Vidor
Hi Group,

I have successfully configured opensmpp box. This can receive MT messages from
smpp clients and send the through my HTTP SMSC to the real world.

Small question is when a smpp client connects, such as nowsms or a perl module
e.g NET_SMPP. These clients put in the SMSC settings details for my smppbox and
connect fine. However how do these request a dlr?

I know that if I had another kannel instance acting as a client, in the request
to smpp box you can add a dlr-mask request on the initial request. But what
about the clients that don't have options to specify a dlr mask, has any one
had any experience with this? or similar? what setups have you found that work ?

Obviously the dlr comes back from the SMSC but cannot find a matching dlr in
the table as the smpp client hasn't requested for it initially.

I welcome your thoughts.

This is more something for a nowsms/NET_SMPP mailinglist.
They should be able to request a dlr. But you have to ask there how to do
it.

Re: Kannel 1.5.0 Debian packages

2011-03-23 Thread Alan McNatty
Hi Alex,

Thanks for rolling us a new deb.

Thanks also for building with Postgres support - that will save me
rolling my own :)

Just a couple of questions:

1) I notice we have the usual binaries ... but I thought there was talk
of run_kannel_box being deprecated since we have --parachute --daemonize
capability. What are people doing these days by default - see attached
init.d script for example.

2) (this is likely a longer term / roadmap question) Any chance sqlbox
(and possibly others, e.g smppbox) could be included as a binary as
well?

It is sounded like more and more folk are using these as standard and it
would be advantageous to the project to have them included in standard
deb.

I realise they are not in the standard build so possibly this is a
question more around when the source / build trees might be merged (i.e
--enable-sqlbox, etc)? So likely some work involved here - and best of
all likely involves autoconf, etc compiler magic that troubles many of
us.

Cheers,
Alan

binary packages which I run on Debian also works well on Ubuntu
but I
forget which release he runs.

 could you please answer some questions:
 - how these packages compiled

I patched 1.5.0 source with official Debian diff (actually tar
file)
because my intention is that the packages I build shouldn't
differ a lot
from Debian shipped packages. It is because of that if someone
upgrade
it from official Debian release to newly built packages s/he
doesn't
have to change anything in configuration files.

 - which DB support is enabled

Sqlite3, Postgresql and MySQL.

 - compiler/configure flags used

Here is the relevant section from debian/rules files:
./configure \
  --host=$(DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE) \
  --build=$(DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE) \
  --enable-warnings \
  --prefix=/usr \
  --mandir=\$${prefix}/share/man \
  --infodir=\$${prefix}/share/info \
  --enable-docs --enable-pam --enable-pcre \
  --enable-ssl --with-ssl=/usr \
  --with-mysql --with-mysql-dir=/usr \
  --with-sqlite3 \
  --with-pgsql --with-pgsql-dir=/usr

And here is relevant section from Makefile:

LIBS=-lpq -lmysqlclient_r -lssl -ldl -lpam -lpcreposix -lrt
-lresolv
-lnsl -lm -lpthread -lxml2 -L/usr/lib -lpcreposix -lpcre
-L/usr/lib
-lcrypto -lssl -rdynamic -L/usr/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient_r
-L/usr/local/lib -lsqlite3 -L/usr/lib

CFLAGS=-D_REENTRANT=1 -I. -Igw -g -O2 -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=600
-D_BSD_SOURCE
-D_LARGE_FILES= -I/usr/include/libxml2  -Wall
-Wmissing-prototypes
-Wmissing-declarations -Wnested-externs -Winline -Wformat
-Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -I/usr/include
-I/usr/include/mysql -I/usr/include/postgresql

LDFLAGS= -rdynamic

 Do you have some place to upload packages and we will push
 those then to download section?

Yes, I can upload it but would like to know first if the
configuration
above is correct. If not, I can rebuild it with your (or someone
else)
suggestions.

 Thanks,
 Alexander Malysh

  Hi all,

  I have noticed on users@kannel.org list that some user have
  a problem
  how to build Kannel on Debian/Ubuntu systems.

  On the Kannel site in download section Debian packages are
  outdated
  (1.4.1 version for Debian sarge). Current Debian stable
  release is
  shipped with with Kannel 1.4.3 version which is old as we
  all know.

  I have built Kannel 1.5.0 (development release) for Debian
  squeeze
  (current stable) and for i386 and amd64 architectures. It
  works without
  problem for more than three or four months.

  IMHO it would be useful for users to update Kannel download
