RE: Routing from Kannel SMPP connection to a connected OpenSMPPbox client
See the smsbox-route configuration option. From: users [mailto:users-boun...@kannel.org] On Behalf Of David Riches Sent: maandag 22 september 2014 21:41 To: users@kannel.org Subject: Routing from Kannel SMPP connection to a connected OpenSMPPbox client Hi Ive been strugling with this for a week or so now, and could do with a pointer on how to achieve what I need: Using Kannel Bearerbox/SMSbox I have a working SMPP link to our carrier and can receive message to/from (carrier) I am also running OpenSMPPbox to accept a connection from a remote company (client) I need to be able to route inbound messages from the Carrier - Client but cant quite work out where I need to set up the routing. Im not trying to do anything more advanced than this , just a simple passthrough of all traffic from the carrier to the client via SMPP. Can anyone shed any light on how this would be achieved please? Regards David
Receiving SMS with alcatel x230 modem
Hi, I'm trying to configure Kannel to send and receive SMS with several GSM modems. So far, I succeded to do so with Huawei modems, but I'm having problems with Alcatel. The modem gets recognized, mode-switched, kannel initializes it and can use it to send, but the reception notification never occurs. I suspect there is an issue with the init string with the same result with several others (see the commented lines in the attached kannel.conf). The attached files: kern.log: kernel log messages when I plug in the modem. lsusb.log: lsusb -vvv output, the relevant device is Bus 001 Device 0057 usb-devices.log output of usb-devices kannel.conf: the Kannel configuration used for testing. kannel.log: the log showing kannel opens the port and can send and receive AT commands to the modem. During this time, an SMS was sent to the modem, but the notification does not appear and the response is allways 0 messages in memory (+CPMS: SM,0,50,ME,0,100,ME,0,100). Basic scenario info: Kannel version: svn-r5104 OS: Linux 3.2.0 amd64 (ubuntu server on a vm). Re: Receiving SMS with alcatel x230 modem
Hi Ariel There seems not to be a communication problem between your modem and kannel. As per logs, there are no sms on sim nor equipment; thus kannel does not tries to retrieve anything. Have you tried to place the sim in a regular phone and test sending and receiving? Stupid question but, are you testing with the right number/sim? You might try: message-storage = ME however still CPMS shows there are no sms on ME. Also you can try to play with CNMI command on init-tring. This instructs modem to automatically forward MO messages to kannel.
