Receiving message with mostly hex characters

2014-10-12 Thread Raul, Jr. Martinez
Hi,

I have a service that receives keywords/commands from customers and there
are some units (specifically samsung phones) that sends message that's
seems to be encoded - 0055006E006C0069

2014-10-07 17:20:02 Receive SMS [SMSC:x] [SVC:] [ACT:] [BINF:] [FID:]
[from:] [to:] [flags:-1:2:-1:0:-1] [msg:8:0055006E006C0069]
[udh:0:]

The same message is sent to a PHP script for further action.

How should I deal with this? I really want to know how to decode the
message to limit the changes I have to introduce to the backend system.

Thanks in advance.

Some messages for real smsc gets redirected to fakesmsc

2014-07-24 Thread Raul, Jr. Martinez
Hello there,

I'm a long time kannel user supporting a side project that does basic SMS
interactions.

I use fakesmsc when testing new enhancements and ensure that my application
is working against SMS coming in and out of the system.

I noticed that when I execute fakesmsc (in production), some of the
messages intended for mobile numbers of real smsc's gets displayed. I am
worried that the message will not be received by the actual recipient.

My application makes sure that the proper smsc id is send when sending SMS
via kannel's http endpoint.

Anyone has any idea how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Getting the IMSI from an sms message

2011-06-12 Thread Raul, Jr. Martinez
Hello,

There is a requirements for me to determine the IMSI number and should be
triggered by an incoming SMS message. I am basically trying to create an
service activation utility that requires IMSI number to be sent to a
third-party service provider.

What are the steps I need to take in order for me to get hold on an
IMSI number.

Thanks
Raul
